Note: I absolutely do hate myself for that headline.
The girlfriend (or long-time alliance partner) was running into our local Bank of America branch when I saw the parking sign you now see pictured to the left of this text. It was situated in a parking space next to the traditional handicap spaces and read, “Reserved for Low Emitting/Fuel Efficient Vehicles.”
I’d never seen anything quite like it.
I like this idea. Let’s reward those who have cars that are kind to the environment with a super-convenient parking spot. Let’s make those stupid jerks who have big, polluting, baby-kitten-burning SUVs drive all the way to the back and park there.
Wait…
Isn’t that worse for the environment to have the big SUVs tooling around the parking lot looking for spaces? So, let’s give them the spots in the front, and let the people whose cars run on sunshine and lemon drops park in the back.
Wait, that isn’t fair either.
I quit. Internet banking for all.

Is that sign backed up by any law? Could they tow you if you parked your kitten-buring SUV there? And what are the criteria for their “fuel efficient” requirement? My Matrix gets 33 mpg highway. Can I park there?
Yeah, internet banking is the way to go.

Yet bank robbers still pull up to the curb.
