Last Week: Chris was voted out Sooner, Jessica was rocked out later.

39 Days, 20 People, 1 “Survivor Blog…

Let’s take a look at the tribe as it currently stands…

The Vinaka Tribe (wearing black)
Adam – 25, Homeless Shelter Manager
Bret – 42, Police Sergeant
David – 42, Television Writer
Hannah – 24, Barista
Jay – 27, Real Estate Agent
Ken – 33, Model
Sunday – 45, Youth Pastor
Will – 18, High School Student
Zeke – 28, Asset Manager

We meet up with the final nine after last week’s rocky ending. (See what I did there?) Hannah is understandably stressed out because Jessica put her game on the line rather than vote her out.

Zeke and David have wildly differing attitudes about the evening as David is bummed about losing his idol and the numbesr, while Zeke is giddy with how one of the most exciting Tribals in recent memory went in his favor.

Later on, Jay, Will, Bret, and Zeke gather together to form a five-person alliance with the for-some-reason-not-present Sunday. They vow to go to the end together and vote out David next.

The next morning, Ken receives the Legacy Advantage. That’s quick shipping, they must have Amazon Prime. Fijian Prime?

Reward Challenge Time: Wait, not yet…

Before the festivities get underway, we get a visit from everybody’s loved ones. I need to Fijian Prime myself some tissues.

First up is Sunday’s husband. We then meet Bret’s father. Jay’s sister is next and he just loses it. He tells us that his mother couldn’t be there and that she is his heart.

Aaaand now I’m losing it. Whoever had Jay in the “Make Gordon Cry Pool” please claim your prize.

We then get acquainted with Hannah’s mother and Adam’s brother. Adam breaks down when his brother tells him that their mother is OK.

(I’m going to need a minute.)

OK…I’m fine. Adam tells his brother that’s he’s allowed to steal a reward, but he isn’t going to because he can’t take away anyone’s loved ones visit. His brother tells him he’s going to win anyway.

Quick Aside: The winner of this challenge had better pick Adam to share the reward or they’re going to look bad.

David’s dad is next, then it’s Ken’s equally handsome brother and Zeke’s dad.

Wow, Mama McNickle did not raise any ugly kids.

Finally, Will’s mother comes out. I half expected Probst to assure her that Will hasn’t had any alcohol.

Reward Challenge Time Part Deux: The players will be tethered to a rope and race through an obstacle course. First person to get to the end will get to share a barbecue with their loved one back at camp.

The Survivors are ready…and they go.

Ken is off to an early lead. He’s followed by Jay, Zeke, and Hannah.

Adam gets stuck under a log and is screaming. As in, literally wailing. This is hard to watch.

Jay eventually takes the lead and wins it. Don’t sleep on Jay putting together a challenge run. That’s two in a row for him and he destroyed those puzzles last week.

Jay gets to pick two other people. He goes with Will and…Sunday. Gah… Jay tells everyone that he had already made promises to the people he picked.

Probst lets him off the hook by allowing him pick one more person. Every person is practically begging. This is rough. Jay goes with Adam.

Whew…

Back at camp, Adam’s brother gives him an update on their mother. Unfortunately, things haven’t improved. His brother assures us that Adam’s time on “Survivor” has been a huge boon for the family and they’re very proud of him.

(I’m going to need another minute.)

When we come back, Adam decides to give his reward steal to Jay as a way to say “Thank you.” So many feelings!

Quick Aside: I love this. The reward steal was a very dangerous advantage to have. Adam is free of it, he didn’t hurt anyone’s feeling, and he got the must-needed loved-ones visit.

Later, Will tells us that the family visit has made him realize that he hasn’t built enough of a resume to win at a Final Tribal. He approaches David and tells him that Zeke would beat anybody and that he should go home immediately. David, who is beyond excited to have an opening, is all for it.

Immunity Challenge Time: The players will squeeze handles together that are holding up a bar. If you lose tension the bar will fall and you’re eliminated. Last person standing wins immunity.

We start off and David is out quickly. Hannah, Will, Bret, and Sunday are next.

Zeke drops out much to the delight of David.

We’re down to Jay, Ken, and Adam. Probst lets us know that it has only been four minutes. Wow. I expected this to be one of those “Two Hours Elapses” challenges.

Sure enough, Ken and Jay can’t hold on much longer. Adam wins immunity. Quite an emotional couple of days for him.

Politicking around camp starts off with David, Ken, Adam, Hannah, and Will agreeing to vote for Zeke.

However, the others notice that David and his group aren’t scrambling. Zeke takes this to mean that David has found his third idol. So, they decide to target Ken. Ah…but didn’t David play an idol for Ken just last week?

Will and Ken go out to talk strategy. Ken says, “I don’t just have a five-minute conversation and then hop in bed with somebody.”

That’s a shame.

Before they finish up, Ken tells Will that he thinks he’s authentic and he wants to work with him. Will thanks Ken, then warns him that they’re going to target him at Tribal.

This sets Ken off. He takes Jay aside and tells him that Will spilled the beans. As you’d imagine, this blows up the whole game.

Why, Ken?

Will tells Zeke, Jay, and Bret that he feels like he’s being treated like a goat. Jay assures him that they’re on his side and they’ll vote for whoever he wants to.

Ken tells Adam and David that he was testing Will. Will is not pleased. He wants to make a big move, but he also wants to punish Ken for throwing him under the bus.

Oh Ken.

That night at Tribal, David immediately gets to the point and tells Jeff that everyone is fighting over a swing vote.

Sunday breaks down the alliances and points out that Will is in the middle.

Will admits that he wanted to get rid of Zeke, but Ken blew it up.

Sunday believes that Will feels like the big kids are making the moves and he was swayed over to David’s side. Will points out that he wasn’t swayed, it was his call.

Will finds it insulting that he’s being treated like a kid and he’s going to hold his breath until they treat him like an adult. (I may have made that last part up.)

Jay thinks he should stay on their side because they’ve been treating him like an equal and they took out Michaela together.

David thinks that flipping and voting out Zeke would be a great thing for his resume.

Remember when flipping was something that was frowned upon by a jury? This move could potentially put four former friends out of the game.

Adam continues the pitch by saying that everyone is equal in their alliance.

Ultimately, Jay tells Will to go with his gut. Will thanks him and points out that Jay has been the one person who has shown him respect throughout the game.

Voting Time: No votes are shown. Ooooooo…

JPro tallies and returns. He asks if anyone wants to play an idol and…Adam does! (And, since he didn’t have a bag because he has immunuty, he had to store it in his crotch.) He decides to play it for Hannah.

Alright, we’ve got four votes for Hannah, two votes for Zeke, and the twelfth person eliminated from “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X” is…Zeke.

Wow…

Quick Aside: Will did vote for Zeke.

Verdict: How are more people not loving this season?! So many people to root for! So many surprises! Everyone swinging for the fences!

Power Rankings Results: Michele Fitzgerald had Zeke in spot 1, while Shirin Oskooi had Zeke in spot 5. So, the current score is Team Fitzgerald 94, Team Oskooi 91.
