The “Survivor: Tocantins” Power Rankings Challenge: Round 4

by

The Rules: Each week, “Survivor: Gabon” alumni and former Onion Alliance kingpin Charlie Herschel and your beloved “Survivor” recapper Gordon Holmes will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of that Thursday’s episode will determine the amount of points the two combatants will earn. For example, if Sierra is voted out this week, Charlie will receive 2 points and Gordon will receive 1 point. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the “Survivor: Tocantins” Power Rankings Challenge Champion.

Last Episode: Gordon had Spencer ranked in spot 10, while Charlie had Spencer ranked 11th. The current score is Gordon 31, Charlie 29.

Current Score: 31

Sierra – The more I see of Sierra the more I love her game. From the quick-on-her-feet fire pit lie to making sure nobody was around when she asked Brendan about the alliance, she’s a player.

2

2

Tyson – Oh, Dauber. He’s playing a fun game, but I don’t think it will get him to the end. After he stabs Coach in the back (and you know that’s coming) who else can he rely on? However, I’ll continue to rank him high, as he won’t be voted out any time soon.

3

1

Stephen – Stephen’s been able to balance between the cross-tribe alliance and the Jalapao alliance for a while. But, the time to choose a side is probably coming soon. Unfortunately for Taj, I see him siding with his BFF JT (OMG LOL).

4

4

JT – Any guy who’s more focused on an immunity challenge than a smashed tooth is somebody I want on my team. When Probst puts the remains on that tooth on eBay, I plan on being the first bidder.

5

6

Joe – I think Joe’s in a strong alliance with the rest of the Jalapao crew, but I see him being the odd man out when it comes time to start trimming the fat. A fifth place finish feels about right for him.

6

5

Deb Deb’s picked out a nice three-bedroom, two-bath home on the south side of Under the Radar and she seems very happy there. I think she’s this season’s dark horse, she could survive the Coach-gets-booted fallout and stick around till the end.

7

9

Sydney – I think Sydney is much brighter than the editing is giving her credit for. According to Spencer, she knew he was gay, she was just testing him. However, JT and Joe would have to be fools not to know that she’s playing them.

8

8

Coach – I’m not sure what it says about me for loving the villains, but I love Coach. The man actually conducted his tribe like an orchestra! That was almost worth sitting through a clip show…almost.

9

7

Brendan – He’s liked, good-looking, and has an immunity idol, so why is he ranked so low? Because I don’t trust Coach not to make a move before the merger, and I think Erinn would go with any plan that would keep her around longer.

10

11

Taj – You’re absolutely killing me, Taj. You should be waltzing through this game with an easy path from the merge to the finals, but you keep picking fights that don’t need to be picked.

11

12

Erinn – Erinn made me crack up during last week’s “all-new” clip show, but that doesn’t change the fact that the second Timbira loses she’s out the door. But, I give her credit for hanging on in a hostile tribe for as long as she has.

Charlie Herschel’s Picks
Current Score: 29

Stephen – Stephen is playing cautiously and thoughtfully–he is clearly thinking about the game every second out there and behaving in ways that only enhance his game.  Surprisingly, this is very rare in “Survivor.”

2

1

Sierra – I don’t think she is any more likable than Erinn, but her tribe seems to think so.  I still think she’ll cruise the double-alliance, non-threatening thing to the end.

3

2

Tyson – Tyson brilliantly disguises his intense game by being the tribe clown.  I hope he wins.

4

6

JT – Safe for now, but I don’t think that can last long (and I hope he doesn’t last long–I’m officially not a fan).

5

8

Debbie – Deb is as unlikable as Erinn, but I don’t think she would be able to handle being the outcast as calmly as Erinn has handled it…and when she starts to get paranoid, she will dig her own grave.

6

4

Brendan – Eek.  I have a bad feeling.  They can get rid of Erinn later, but can they get rid of Brendan later?  Isn’t this season supposed to be full of blindsides??–Brendan would be a classic blindside. (see James, Ozzy)  My boy may be in trouble!

7

7

Taj – Taj needs to think before she acts and talks to make it far.  Lucky for her, she has JT and Stephen (I think).

8

10

Coach – I am very impressed that his tribe has endured 15 days of him.  I doubt they have much more patience for this dude!

9

12

Erinn – If her tribe wins immunity, I think smart players will start to see Erinn as a vote they can use and abuse…and who wouldn’t want to sit next to Erinn in the finals?  But I think she needs to squeak by one more round before she can coast for a while.

10

5

Joe – Is it just me or did Joe hurt himself in the JT-tooth challenge?  There is a reason that every shot is included–everything means something eventually.  I think Joe may be the evacuated contestant.

9

Sydney – Sydney shouldn’t have voted out all of her allies, because now there is no one left to target but her!  And Sydney is going up against the JT/Taj/Stephen powerhouse.
