Last Week: Scot, Jason, and Tai have two idols while young people who watch “Survivor” have none. Oh, and Debbie’s latest job is “jury member.”
39 Days, 18 People, 1 “Survivor” Blog
Let’s take a look at the tribe as it currently stand..
The Dara Tribe (wearing black)
Aubry – 29, Social Media Marketer
Cydney – 23, Body Builder
Jason – 31, Bounty Hunter
Joseph – 72, Former FBI Agent
Julia – 19, Student
Michele – 24, Bartender
Scot – 40, Former NBA Champion
Tai – 51, Gardener
We start off back at Dara beach after Tribal where the bad boys alliance is patting each other on the back.
Then…Tai gives Jason his idol back. Dah! C’mon, Tai!
Jason credits their win to destroying the camp. That’s…uh…debatable. How would anything have been different if they’d just been cool? And how many jury members did that infuriate?
Tai wants to mend fences the next morning. Scot agrees because he doesn’t want to be the next Russell Hantz. No dude, you’re the next Brandon Hantz.
Scot approaches Aubry and tells her that he’ll behave around camp as long as they get rid of Cydney next. Aubry acts like she agrees, but she tells us that she’s not going to go along with it.
Reward Challenge Time: Players will stand with one foot holding up pot on a balancing beam. Last person with their pot in one piece wins food, a letter from home, or a mystery advantage.
As an added twist, everyone is competing against the people who want the same item. So, three winners? I kind of like this twist.
Also, the big plate of food is labeled “Food.” Very helpful.
For the advantage it’s Tai, Cydney, and Aubry.
For the food it’s Scot, Jason, and Michele.
And for the letter it’s Joe and Julia.
We start off and Joe is almost immediately out. Julia gets a letter from home. Fastest challenge win ever?
Scot’s out next…then Jason. Michele wins “food.”
Cydney lasts for a bit before her pot topples. It’s down to Tai and Aubry.
They battle for ten minutes…and Aubry’s pot drops. Tai wins the advantage.
So, it turns out that Tai’s advantage is an extra vote. Oh, that always works out well, right Stephen? No? Dan? Huh…
Meanwhile, Julia’s enjoying her loved-one letter. Well, she did work super hard for it. She had to balance a pot for 15 whole seconds.
Later on, she tells Aubry and Michele that she wants to target Tai so he’ll play his idol. And if it doesn’t work, they’ll only lose Cydney. Aubry respects Julia’s game, but she doesn’t want to sit next to her at the end.
Aubry approaches Tai and says it’s hard to know when to trust your heart or your brain. But she was a brain!!!
She tells Tai that certain people are trying to flush his idol and that she’ll have his back.
Tai shares this info with Scot and Jason and asks if they should align with Aubry. Scot immediately says they should take her out. This is not what Tai was going for.
Immunity Challenge Time: The players will stretch out and press discs against posts. The last person with their discs in the air will win immunity.
Tonight’s Trend: Stand somewhere, don’t break something.
And…Joe’s the first out.
Scot is the next one gone 25 minutes later. He’s followed by Julia, Tai, and Michele.
We’re down to Jason, Cydney, and Aubry.
Cydney finally drops out at the 45-minute mark. Aubry and Jason go toe-to-toe for an hour and fifteen minutes before Aubry loses her discs. Jason wins immunity…and screams…and sweats.
Back at camp, the guys are high-fivin’ and preparin’ to target Aubry.
Later, Julia tells Scot and Jason that the ladies are targeting Tai to get rid of his idol. They pitch her coming on board because they don’t think they can beat Tai at a final Tribal. And they can beat Julia?!
Meanwhile, Cydney wants to target Scot instead. Aubry is willing to go along with it because she likes Tai.
Aubry asks Tai what he wants to do. He isn’t sure because he realizes his best bet is probably to go to the end with the guys. Well, he isn’t wrong.
Remember Joe?
That night at Tribal, Scot confesses to doing some trash talking. He says he’s not going anywhere.
Jason says either the women decide which of their players is going home, or they will.
Aubry doesn’t know what’s going to happen.
Jason and Scot laugh because they told everyone what they were going to do.
Cydney is nervous because she jumped ship and Jason and Scot are “salty.” She also mentions that she hasn’t won any challenges.
Jason points out that the people who win challenges aren’t going home tonight.
Tai doesn’t boast in his personal life, but this is war.
Jason and Scot point out that Tai has stepped up for them time and time again.
Aubry thinks the challenge was her chance to prove that she’s not just a brain. Scot and Jason both think she’s been kicking butt the whole time.
Voting Time: Julia votes for Tai, Jason votes for Aubry, Aubry votes for Scot, and the rest are secret.
Probst tallies and returns. He asks if anyone would like to play an idol…and Julia tells Tai to play his. He does not.
We’ve got one vote for Tai, one vote for Aubry, one vote for Scot, one vote for Tai, one vote for Aubry, two votes for Scot, and the eleventh person eliminated from “Survivor: Kaôh Rōng is…Scot.
BUT WAIT! Scot asks Tai for the idol…and he doesn’t hand it over! No super idol!
Scot’s really out! And so is Jason’s idol!
Exclamation points!
Verdict: Wow, this season is awesome. Just awesome.
And now that I think about it; Aubry and Tai were tied so it would’ve been a revote and Tai would’ve been out.
Wow again.
Who’s Going to Win? This is the Aubry show, baby.
Power Rankings Results: Shirin and I both had Scot in spot eight. The current score is Team Shirin 90, Team Gordon 88.
