The “Survivor: Tocantins” Power Rankings Challenge: Round 3

by

The Rules: Each week, “Survivor: Gabon” alumni and former Onion Alliance kingpin Charlie Herschel and your beloved “Survivor” recapper Gordon Holmes will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of that Thursday’s episode will determine the amount of points the two combatants will earn. For example, if Sierra is voted out this week, Charlie will receive 1 points and Gordon will receive 3 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the “Survivor: Tocantins” Power Rankings Challenge Champion.

Last Week: Gordon had Sandy ranked in spot 12, while Charlie had Sandy ranked 9th. The current score is Gordon 21, Charlie 18.

1

Tyson: Dauber’s loin cloth dance earns him the position as the second funniest tribe act in “Survivor” history. The first? Greg Buis and the coconut phone. This guy’s going a long way.

2

2

Stephen: With having a foot in two different alliances, I think Stephen’s in a good place to take a serious run at the million. If he’s smart (and I think he is) he can just hang back and see how that whole Taj vs. Joe feud pans out.

3

4

Sierra: Sierra finds herself in an amazing position. Brendan trusts her enough to have her join the cross-tribers (OK, they need a nickname) and she’s managed to position herself behind Coach and Erinn when it comes to Timbira liabilities.

4

6

JT: JT is the classic post-merge physical threat who will need to go, but he’s doing a decent job pulling in some interesting allies. He’s close with Stephen and seems to have some strong ties with Sydney and Joe.

5

3

Deb: Deb continues to do a good job flying under the radar, and her performance in last week’s challenge shows she’s tough too. How she reacts to Coach’s eventually booting will determine where she’ll end up.

6

5

Joe: Joe vs. Taj seems to be the hot feud brewing at Jalapao. This would seem to go in Joe’s favor as he has the numbers, but Stephen and Taj’s immunity idol (that I assume she found) may come into play.

7

7

Brendan: I think Brendan is playing a very smart game, but I think Jerry threw him under the bus two weeks ago with all of that “leadership” talk. Coach is all about bringing along the strongest people until it doesn’t fit his needs.

8

9

Coach: Over at Timbira, Coach’s numbers have been rapidly dwindling. The only person who totally has his back is Deb. If it came down to Coach vs. Brendan, I think the tribe would send Coach to the showers.

9

8

Sydney: So, Sydney has Joe and JT on her side, but will they be willing to keep her around if Jalapao starts dropping challenges?

10

10

Spencer: I still can’t get a very good read on Spencer. He voted with the tribe on the Sandy vote. However, she may have been his best bet to advance.

11

11

Taj: Taj…I love Taj…she was my early show pick. That being said, she may have too big of a mouth for her own good. Even if the cross-tribers (Timalapao? Jalbira?) come together, there’s no need to upset someone in good standing like Joe. The whole thing has me nervous.

12

13

Erinn: There’s no doubt in my mind that Erinn is next to go on Timbira. Outside of a Coach Coup (which I don’t see happening soon, but do see happening eventually) she’s done.

Charlie Herschel’s Picks
Current Score: 18

Sierra: OK, I’m putting her at #1 this week because last week’s editing was screaming to me that Sierra was going to win this thing. “From bottom of the food chain to number one.” I’m going with my gut.

2

2

Tyson: I loved his line about not paying attention at Tribal. Sometimes it’s hard to focus at Tribal when people are talking in circles SO long! I remember repeating to myself, “Charlie, pay attention in case Professor Probst calls on you. Pay attention!”

3

1

Stephen: How can you align with someone you’ve never met? If this cross-tribal alliance is Stephen’s fall-back plan, then it’s amazing. But, I think he should try to develop his strongest alliances at home with Jalapao before he goes off giving his word to players he’s never met. Also, I’m mad he didn’t keep Sandy and use her to his advantage later in the game.

4

6

Brendan: I think Brendan may be hotter than Marcus!

5

4

Joe: Although Jalapao pretty much agreed to boot Sandy, the tribe is more splintered than I thought. Joe seems to have ties to both the JT/Stephen crowd and to the Sydney/Spencer crowd.

6

7

JT: I want to like this guy, but I just haven’t gotten there yet.

7

5

Taj: I like Taj, but I’m still nervous that she is playing too above the radar. I know she promised never to write Sandy’s name down, but I think she should have broken that promise with non-juror Sandy to save face with someone she may need later in the game like Joe.

8

8

Deb: I feel like she tries SO hard…and she seems to be flying under other people’s wings but not really forming a super-duper close relationship with those people. I’m not a Debbie fan.

9

11

Sydney: Sydney has Joe and JT on her side, but Stephen and Taj may convince these two to come to the dark side.

10

10

Coach: Not only does Coach rub everyone the wrong way, but he seems clueless as to how people perceive him. He completely fails at Social Skills 101.

11

12

Spencer: Did Spencer vote out his closest ally last week? WHA?! Spencer is in a similar position to Sydney except without the Joe/JT fan club. Is he aligned with ANYONE?! It’s JT/Stephen/Taj vs. Joe/Sydney vs. Spencer. Also, physical strength is now turning from an asset to a liability.

12

13

Erinn: I am shocked the producers brought up Erinn’s recent pre-game break-up to explain why she can’t socialize with Timbira. That’s just dumb.
