The “Survivor: Tocantins” Power Rankings Challenge: Round 5

by

The Rules: Each week, “Survivor: Gabon” alumni and former Onion Alliance kingpin Charlie Herschel and your beloved “Survivor” recapper Gordon Holmes will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of that Thursday’s episode will determine the amount of points the two combatants will earn. For example, if Coach is voted out this week, Charlie will receive 9 points and Gordon will receive 8 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the “Survivor: Tocantins” Power Rankings Challenge Champion.

Last Episode: Gordon had Sydney ranked in spot 7, while Charlie had Sydney ranked 11th. The current score is Gordon 38, Charlie 40.

Current Score: 38

1

Sierra: Somehow Sierra has found herself in a golden position. She can either stick with Timbira (doubtful) or go with Brendan and the cross-tribers.

2

3

Stephen: There’s such uncertainty going into this merge. Usually the dominant tribe will pick off the smaller one. The cross-tribe has put this in doubt. Either way, Stephen is safe.

3

6

Deb: No matter what happens between Timbira and the cross-tribers, I think Deb is going to be safe. She’ll coast for a while either way

4

10

Taj: Taj may have rubbed some people the wrong way, but there isn’t a reason to get rid of her for the time being. If Timbira takes over, she won’t be their first target.

5

11

Erinn:Normally being the swing vote would keep Erinn safe for at least a round, but the cross-tribers don’t really need her around. I wonder how Brendan and Sierra feel about her.

6

2

Tyson: If Timbira wins, he’s safe with his assistant coach position. If not, Coach will probably go before he does.

7

4

JT: Stephen and Taj obviously like JT, but they don’t fully trust him. If the cross-tribers come together he’ll be fine for a while as Coach and Tyson are more obvious targets.

8

9

Brendan: I think Brendan’s the cross-triber who’s in the most jeopardy, but Timbira can’t get rid of him without Sierra’s help. Which they won’t get.

9

8

Coach: If the cross-tribe alliance comes to fruition, I think our beloved Coach may be the first one to be pulled from the game. (Get it? Cause he’s a Coach…  Let’s move on.)

10

5

Joe: Joe went to bat for Sydney last week and failed. I think if Timbira starts picking of Jalapao they’re going to start with him. That is, if his leg doesn’t take him out first.

Current Score: 40

Sierra: Sierra has two very sound options; stick with the Timbira six-some or flip to the Exile alliance.  Win-win.  Jeff hasn’t reminded us in a while that Sierra was the first kicked out of her tribe on day 1 – he LOVES that fact.  Wouldn’t it be an interesting story if she ended up winning this game?

2

1

Stephen: Stephen has an immunity idol without the idol target (no one really knows that it’s his – does the audience even understand that the immunity idol is his and not Taj’s anymore?)  This matched with the Exile alliance will likely be enough to overcome merging with the minority tribe.

3

3

Tyson: I hope tyson endears himself to the new merged tribe as well as he has with former Timbira.  Stephen/Taj/JT might expose Tyson for the threat that he really is, which Timbira has been blind to.

4

9

Erinn: Erinn benefits the most from the merge.  People are going to want to take care of bigger business and save Erinn for later. Erinn’s vote is up for grabs and I can see the former Jalapaos gunning for it.

5

7

Taj: I think Taj’s social skills will be an asset at merge time.  Even though she doesn’t have possession of the immunity idol, Brendan and Sierra will likely trust Taj the most from the former Jalapaos.

6

5

Deb: She has no control over this game.  She’ll be taken along until there is no use for her and then abruptly cut out.

7

4

JT: JT is lucky that Coach doesn’t want to eliminate strong players before weak players.  JT is not lucky that Coach has proven to be the biggest hypocrite on Earth.

8

8

Coach: Former Timbira can finally get rid of Coach while still maintaining the majority.

9

6

Brendan: Dude is way too strong to keep around PLUS he has an idol.  They would be idiots to keep him.

10

10

Joe: So obviously evacuated…just when he was getting super cute.  I wonder if he will know that his immunity idol is fake when he is taken out of the game.  Wouldn’t it be funny if he got evacuated, thinking that he could have gone real far with an immunity idol?  Ha!
