Last Week: Four sat out for rice’s sake, immunity was there for Frannie to take, and Kane went home with an idol that was fake.

39 26 Days, 18 People, 1 “Survivor” Blog

Let’s take a look at the tribe as it currently stands…

The Va Va Tribe (wearing black)

  • Carolyn, 35 – Drug Counselor
  • Carson, 20 – NASA Engineering Student
  • Danny 32 – Firefighter
  • Frannie, 23 – Research Manager
  • Heidi, 29 – Engineering Manager
  • Jaime, 35 – Yogi
  • Lauren, 31 – Elementary School Teacher
  • Yam Yam, 36 – Salon Owner

Post-Tribal Shenanigans

Frannie is in shock as she didn’t know about the plan to vote out Kane. She tells everyone that she would have been up for it. But now she feels like she can’t trust anyone. Well, that’s Survivor 101 there.

Lauren is in the same boat and she’s a bit concerned that the Ratu numbers are dwindling.

Carson takes Jaime aside and explains that Kane had told him about her “idol.” Jaime hilariously responds, “That makes me not trust him.” Well, that ship has sailed.

In truth Carson was the one who told everyone about Jaime’s idol. He then explains how he loves telling lies about people who can’t defend themselves. Well, fortunately those people don’t vote for who wins in the end.

Oh wait…

And in more bad news for Jaime, nobody knows that she gave Kane her “idol,” so the target is still on her back.

Reward Challenge Time: Players will spin on a contraption to retrieve some balls, they’ll then carry them across some balance-oriented beams. Finally they’ll toss the balls onto a totally different beam. The first person to complete the feat will win an overnight trip to Sanctuary for tacos and margaritas. The person will also receive a letter from home.

Quick Aside: As with all spinning challenges, spin slow. You’ll have time to catch up and you won’t be dizzy.

Result: The Franamaniac does it again! She’s allowed to choose three people to join her, and she goes with Carolyn, Lauren, and Heidi.

Taco Tuesday

Carolyn makes it a point to let everyone know that she’s cool with them drinking margaritas in front of her, which is a nice moment. I know I always get so mad at myself when I forget and drink in front of someone who is on the wagon.

And, all of the moms show appreciation to Frannie for bringing them along.

When the letters come out, Lauren shares her story about her divorce, working two jobs, and eventually getting her Master’s degree.

During the meal, Carolyn puts it right out there saying that she wants to vote out Danny. Lauren is obviously on board, but Heidi and Frannie are less willing to commit.

The Bitter Barn

Yam Yam is not pleased that he was left out of the Sanctuary crew. He makes the point that “Everybody has family.” Yeah buddy, and there were three spots. Are you even close with Frannie?

We even get a video package of all the people that Yam Yam wanted to hear from. I like Yam Yam, but I don’t have a ton of sympathy for this. Win the challenge, buddy.

Later on, Yam Yam’s mood toward Frannie creeps to everyone who was left behind. Especially the fact that she’s won three individual challenges.

During the discussion, Jaime admits that she had an idol, but it went home in Kane’s pocket. And just as I predicted; DANNY DOESN’T BELIEVE IT!

In fact, Carson says this puts Jaime more on his radar.

The Next Morning

When Frannie’s foursome returns, Jaime tells them about what happened to her idol. Aaand…nobody believes it.

Immunity Challenge Time: The players’ feet will be tied together, their arms will be tied to their sides. They’ll slither through a course while they carry a buoy in their mouth. From there, they’ll maneuver the buoy through an obstacle, then race to complete a star puzzle. The first person to complete the puzzle wins immunity.

Result: Carson win immunity. Thank you, 3-D printer!

Pre-Tribal Politicking

Carson, Frannie, Heidi, and others are bouncing around the idea of splitting the vote between the final two Rotu members, then voting out Jaime if there’s a tie.

However, Danny is ready to get rid of Frannie. He makes the very good point that nobody should want to sit with her at final three. She’s likable, good at challenges, and her boyfriend is on the jury. Slam dunk in my book.

Carson and Yam Yam talk it out, and Carson is very worried that Frannie could become Carolyn’s number one. Yam Yam smartly brings up the point that Carolyn does not react well when she’s left out of a plan. Although, now that I think about it…most people wouldn’t.

Danny tells Heidi the plan to get rid of Frannie, even making the point that they don’t need Heidi’s vote to make it happen. So, she tells Carolyn and Carson about this plan. In the moment of the evening, Carson gives an incredulous, “What?!”

Carolyn puts two and two together and gets apple.

Just kidding, she realizes that she’s being left out of the vote. She works with Frannie, Jaime, and Lauren to figure out what’s going on. Their theory is that Heidi is in on it and lying to them, so they decide to vote for Heidi.

Carolyn breaks the news to Carson and…yikes.

Tribal Time

Danny makes the point that you want to be one of the great players like Rob, Parvati, or Jeremy. I agree, Rob Cesternino is great.

Then, Jeff tries to make “Fetch” happen again with “Full Tilt Boogie.”

Jaime reiterates that Kane has her idol and as she says it everyone tries to read Kane’s face. It seems like he didn’t react at all.

Voting Time

No votes are shown.

JPro tallies and returns. He asks if anyone wants to play an idol or an advantage and…nobody does. We’ve got one vote for Frannie, one vote for Danny, two votes for Heidi, two votes for Frannie, and the eleventh person voted out of “Survivor 44” is Frannie.

Verdict: Huh…so Heidi voted for Danny and Carolyn voted for Heidi. Weird.

Honestly, as much as I loved Frannie, she had to goooo. A smart, friendly, challenge beast with a likable boyfriend on the jury? Buh bye.

Power Rankings Result: “Survivor 43” Finalist Owen Knight and I both had Frannie in spot six. So, the current score is Team Holmes 69, Team Knight 82. Check out my YouTube channel for the full episodes!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is a.jpgDanny – Seems like a whole mess is gonna come out of this vote and most of it won’t be directed at Danny. (And are we going to ignore that Danny saved Frannie with an idol earlier?)
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is a-.jpgLauren and Jaime – Jaime’s idol story went from the hottest story to a non-story. They should have a ton of room to make moves next week.
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is b-.jpgCarolyn – Well, it’s never good when you’re not in on the vote. The question is; do you blow up the Three Stooges alliance? And if so, is it for revenge or because you probably can’t beat Carson at final three?
Yam Yam and Carson – I do think getting rid of Frannie was the right move. And I don’t think you know about Carolyn’s idol. So, maybe you didn’t appreciate how dangerous she can be.
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is c.jpgHeidi – Safe to say the Danny/Heidi alliance is officially dead. She probably gonna need that idol soon.
