 1. Frankie – As reigning HOH Frankie is safest this week and the house loves him right now! No one even thinks about getting him out!
  1. Frankie – A rough week for Frankie with the loss of his grandfather. But, it seems like the other houseguests are a good support system for him. The question now is; does he follow through with Zach’s plan to backdoor Amber? I’m thinking he shouldn’t because with Christine thinking of jumping ship, the Detonators need to keep Caleb and Amber happy.
 2. Zach – Frankie’s BFF and the other HOH is safe this week even though Team America makes him look like a jerk at the nomination ceremony and let the power go to his head. No one in the house would dare try to get Frankie to re-nom or back door his HOH BFF! Zach is letting power go to his head.   2. Christine – Kudos to you for not biting when Zach and his attack tried to rile you up at the nomination ceremony. But you’ve got to appreciate that the reign of the Detonators is rapidly coming to an end. It’s time for you to cash in on your Nicole/Hayden alliance and team up with the stragglers and take control.
 3. Nicole – Nicole and Christine are safe since they won the BOTB. I am hoping that both Nicole and Christine see that they are at the bottom of the boys’ alliance and step up and start to realize that if they don’t make a move soon they are the next targets!
  3. Nicole – What was going on after your nomination? I’ve never heard such a perfect balance of laughing and crying. It was unsettling. Anywho, you’re as safe as the “Big Brother” ghost in non-existent.

 4. Christine – Christine is SO SO SO SO DUMB calling Amber out to the boys, it makes no sense that she trusts them in an alliance. Christine is also a dummy for talking too much, she could use this cards shes been dealt and hang out but she’s getting herself in trouble!
  4. Derrick – Nobody is playing a better game than Derrick. He isn’t making waves, he’s talking to everyone, the person who should be angriest with him is now spending time with his daughter. But, it isn’t smooth sailing for our Hitmen…
 5. Derrick – Derrick is acting as the head of the Detonators, Frankie is BFF with him and they have a lot in common. There is no way they would even consider him.
  5. Cody – …I’m mainly thinking about how Zach blew up the Detonators a little too early when he nominated Christine. It might be smart to team with Christine, Nicole, and Hayden as the house’s new dominant clique.
 6. Cody – Cody is part of their boys’ alliance and nice to look at, so Frankie doesn’t want to get rid of him. Cody and Frankie are bros and it’s too early for them to target their power alliance.
  6. Zach – Alright, broski…I’m not sure where I can get my copy of the “Big Brother Dictionary” but I’m pretty sure next to the entry for “Person Playing for 2nd Place” there’s a picture of the Zach Attack. These people have to vote for the winner, right? I’m understanding this correctly? Also, that little thing they keep clipping to your body is a microphone. You don’t have to yell.
 7. Hayden – Hayden is safe again somehow – I like this guy and almost find myself rooting for him more since he’s not in the boys’ alliance and they aren’t targeting him. I mean HELLLLLO he’s a boy that could go head to head with most of these boys and they would rather keep him over someone in their own alliance. REALLY, “BIG BROTHER” HOUSE, REALLY?
  7. Hayden – What do you doooooooooo? You’re like “Survivor: Nicaragua’s’ Fabio except without all of the entertaining injuries.
 8. Donny – Donny is the nicest guy in the house and WE LOVE HIM! I think everyone loves him but the HOH in power always wants to nominate him. They don’t want to get rid of him but they want to put him on the block as a pawn! I want to see Donny as HOH!
 8. Caleb – I’m not going to lie; it did my nerd heart good to see someone as good-looking and ripped as Caleb have such a horrible date. Welcome to my world, cowboy. That being said, it is a little messed up that Amber would do that to you. Don’t tease the poor guy.
 9. Caleb –  Caleb is at the bottom of the boys’ alliance and they always talk about getting him out. However, the boys also know he’s loyal and think that it may be to early to get him out and he’s so obsessed with Amber he’s not thinking about the game, he couldn’t care less. If they got rid of Amber they wouldn’t even have to do anything, Caleb wouldn’t know what to do with his life.
  9. Amber – Zach had the right idea about backdooring Amber, but it’s a bit too soon. If Amber truly believes there’s a conspiracy against her, she needs to start getting the stragglers together.
 10. Amber – Amber is in danger with these boys in power and in this “Big Brother” house the girls are dropping like flies. The boys love to try to get rid of Amber because she is not in their alliance and she has won a competition and for some reason they think she is a physical threat.
  10. Donny – Nobody will beat Donny if he gets to the end. That’s a fact. They should have sent him home a long time ago. (Although I hope they don’t. He’s adorable.)
 11. Victoria – Well…I think we all feel the same way about this one… SOME ONE PLEASE JUST GET HER OUT ALREADY! She won’t step up and try to make an alliance with any of the girls and she won’t at least play a strategic game. I mean really, let’s just have Team America vote her out at this point.
 11. Jocasta – Don’t be fooled by the tie that I got. I’m just, I’m just Jocasta from the block.
 12. Jocasta – Jocasta should be safe this week. Even on the block she shouldn’t be a target since she hasn’t done anything and makes people less mad then Victoria, Christine, and Amber.Side Note: At this point if one of the girls doesn’t step up and notice…HELLO…there is clearly a huge boys’ alliance and they are strong and in power then I may have to root for the girls to keep going home just for being horrible game players!
 12. Victoria – What do I even say about Victoria? She doesn’t do anything until she’s nominated. Then she gets mad. Is anyone close enough to her to save her with the POV? Doubtful. Could she win it herself? Maybe. But those are long odds.

 1. Cody – As HOH this week Cody is safest, however if he doesn’t use his HOH to his advantage it could really hurt his game in the future since we are seeing Cody start to come out of his shell and really play the game. People could start to get scared quickly!
  1. Cody – Cody’s having an uneventful run as HOH, which is probably the best kind of run to have. His two nominees have no pull in the house, so it’s doubtful that any of the heat will come back to haunt him. But the question remains; if Victoria or Brittany win POV, does he try to take out Caleb?
 2. Frankie – Frankie is safe because in this “Big Brother” house the HOH pairs don’t go after each other. Well go figure at this point in the game and in the next few weeks they may want to start to go after their HOH partner. Spice it up a little and make the BOTB count!   2. Amber – The physical threat proved her prowess by walking in L shapes and flipping tiles. She’s like the Ozzy Lusth of “Big Brother.”
 3. Amber – We are all confused how the boys view Amber as a bigger physical threat then Caleb, Hayden, or Zach… We note that she has saved herself every week with the Battle of the Block so good for her!
  3. Jocasta – What the what was going on during the Battle of the Block?! Was she speaking in tongues? Whatever it was, it didn’t look healthy. If she gets this worked up over a relaxing game of chess, imagine if she was playing something exciting like Scrabble.

 4. Jocasta – Jocasta didn’t make the best moves in the game of chess but she at least had to step up and play something. THAT’S WHY WE’RE OBSESSED WITH THIS TWIST!
  4. Frankie – Frankie’s teams keep dropping the Battle of the Block competitions, and I think that’s exactly how he likes it. Let the Calebs and Codys (Codies?) of the world deal with the backlash of sending someone to their doom.
 5. Derrick – Derrick is clearly BFF with Cody, he is in their Detonators alliance… (where do they think of these names?) and he isn’t in danger of the boys turning on him since he’s formed genuine friendships with them. The power hasn’t really shifted at all this season yet but once it does I think Derrick will have to play a better hand since he is feeling a bit too safe to be playing “Big Brother.”
  5. Derrick – Derrick’s backdoor elimination of Devin went off without a hitch. (Hey, look at me using terms like “Backdoor” like a real “Big Brother” expert!) Now he gets to sit back and let his Detonator buddies do some of the dirty work.
 6. Christine – Christine is safe because she’s the last one standing in the Detonators alliance. She’s totally the Brittney to their Brigade and I think she knows it at this point so she may be able to use this to her advantage to get her far. Right now she can’t win HOH because she has too many cards with too many groups of people in the house and is in almost every alliance!
  6. Christine – I love how she magically finds herself in all of the dominant alliances. She just seems trustworthy. Hopefully she can keep that illusion going until she can find a way to flip the game.
 7. Nicole – Their cute lil’ blossoming showmance isn’t putting anyone in the house off since they are targeting Brittney, Amber, Jocasta, and Victoria over these two.
  7. Zach – Zach’s solidly in the Detonator alliance, but he certainly has a bit of a loose cannon vibe about him. He and Cody are close enough that I think he’s super safe this week, but if I were a Detonator I’d be keeping an eye on him.
 8. Hayden – Yes, we’re confused why the boys in an ALLIANCE aren’t targeting one of the only boys NOT in the alliance???? Nobody seems to think of these two as threats so they must be playing a good game.
 8. Nicole – You and Hayden are completely aboreable. Zzz…
 9. Caleb – Caleb is still on Cody’s radar but Cody isn’t sure if it’s the right time to get him out…which is smart because Caleb is still working with them. The “Big Brother” Love Triangle may start to make waves in the house however, and Caleb may get really upset that Amber is locking herself in the room with Cody. (What a vixen! Hehe…)  Caleb and Cody are so going head to head we just all wonder when!
  9. Hayden – See Nicole.
 10. Zach – Zach is friends with Cody but has a big mouth and thinks he’s an evil genius. His best move would be to just sit back and let the Detonators explode and showmance with Frankie but Zach is acting like he’s bored and wants some action. Then win an HOH, sir.  But calm down, you’re playing “Big Brother”!
  10. Donny – If I’m in the house right now, Donny is my number one target. He’s just too likable. Give him too much time and he’ll be able to make something out of the non-Detonators. (Deto-no-tors?)
 11. Donny – Donny is down here because he’s not in the Detonators and he’s always mentioned as a BOTB player or as a replacement nom. I don’t think the house would vote Donny out, but you can only be a pawn so many times!  We don’t know what we would do if Donny went home. Would love to see Donny as HOH! He’s just so adorable!
 11. Caleb – Cody and Amber are going to hook up. They’re always cuddling up or touching each other. And yeah, you can say you’re over her, but nobody is buying it. If Victoria or Brittany manage to claim the POV medallion, Cody should send the “Beast Mode Cowboy” packing. It’s the best move for his game and his love life.
 12. Victoria – With bedgate and attitude, Victoria is rubbing some girls the wrong way. We actually didn’t know who she was until bedgate since she somehow has not been on the show at all for what feels like weeks. This can only mean that she’s not doing anything interesting. If she went I don’t think we would even notice?
 12. Victoria – OK, if I’m Cody, here’s what I’m thinking. I figure out which of the two nominees the Detonators want to vote for. Then, I go to the safe person and tell them they’re in danger, but I’m going to do what I can to keep them around. Victoria is harmless. She isn’t going to make any waves. That’s why I think Brittany is a goner.
 13. Brittany – WE LOVE HER but we also HATE that she told some of the boys she was over it. Recruit or not, you’re here to win $500k. I personally have had my ups and downs in “Big Brother,” but even when I said I was over it, I never was. And we are worried that she is actually over it.  We don’t know why everyone wants to target her but she’s become an easy target for the boys to go after and they try every week! We think she’s in HOT WATER this week if she doesn’t win veto. I imagine that “Big Brother” can’t be harder then raising three kids, Britt. So, put your bun up, get into fierce mode, and be in it to win it!
 13. Brittany – You can only be on the block so many times before you get a one-on-one interview with Julie Chen. It probably doesn’t help when you insult he sitting HOH.

The Most Disturbing Thing About Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’

July 21, 2014

headlineWho doesn’t love “The Little Mermaid”? It’s the movie credited with kicking off the Disney animation renaissance of the late ‘80s/early ‘90s. Its songs ranging from “Under the Sea” to “Kiss the Girl” totally rock. And, it made it socially acceptable for Disney princesses to wear two pieces (well, technically a one-piece and a tail…either way, it paved the way for Princess Jasmine’s ensemble which I am thankful for).

But, there’s always been one thing that has bothered me.

 1. Derrick – As reigning HOH Derrick is safe this week, he even had one of his allies volunteer to go on the block for him. So, he only had to get blood on his hands with one houseguest. His back-door-Devin plan makes the house happy and no one thinks of this as a crazy HOH week. Question is; is Derrick using his HOH to make his game better or to do what the house wants?
  1. Derrick – Derrick’s having a near-perfect week. His plan to send Devin packing can only be derailed by a Devin Power of Veto win. He’s having a blast with his Team America buddies. And, he doesn’t have to wear a frog outfit.
 2. Nicole – This cute small-town girl is showing us that she is not only a fan but has a few wins up her sleeve, we expect to see a lot from this one. She nominates Donny last minute and feels badly about it and cries to him, he says it’s OK and then they make an alliance. Way to turn your cards in your favor!   2. Donny – Donny’s gotta be the guy everyone’s afraid to go to the end with. He’s fun, he’s funny, he’s sweet, but he can’t stick around forever. For now he’s safe, but they’ve got to keep an eye on him.
 3. Donny – Donny is on NO ONE’S radar and he’s everyone’s BFF! He has an alliance with the people not in the bomb squad so he wont be caught in the drama!
  3. Amber – Am I a bad person for really hoping that Amber has a serious boyfriend waiting for her on the outside? Either way, she’s super safe. The fallout of the destruction of the Bomb Squad will probably take out Caleb and Devin, but she should be able to slink away.

 4. Amber – I think Amber is losing her game with the girls since she’s growing closer to the boys everyday. She needs to grab some girls or other allies on her side ASAP or she’s going to be on the outs of the house.
  4. Hayden – The good news: You’re invited into the big alliance! The bad news: The big alliance is crumbling. But, no harm, no foul. Nobody’s worried about Hayden.
 5. Frankie – Frankie is BFF with everyone and very charming. He’s in the bomb squad but he’s also distancing himself so he won’t get caught in the fire.
  5. Frankie – Wait a minute…that guy’s eyes and mouth look just like teen singing sensation Ariana Grande! I know Frankie was one of the heavy hitters in the Bomb Squad, but he’s likable enough that he should be able to move on without too much heat.
 6. Christine – Christine is good with Nicole and Hayden and in with the boys. She seems to be gaming we just want to see her step up her game in a competition.
  6. Amber – Superman has kyptonite, the Green Lantern has the color yellow, and Devin has people who have kids. Weird, right? Anywho, I was sure Brittany was a goner last week. But I guess with all the time between nominations and the actual vote, there’s plenty of time for people’s minds to be changed.
 7. Cody – Cody is part of the bomb squad and also BFF with all the boys! All the girls love him and there’s NO WAY he would be considered as a veto replacement.
  7. Zach – You dodged a bullet last week, my bro-tastic friend. And, I’m betting that your nemesis Devin is on his way out of the house. What’re your next steps? Who can you trust?
 8. Zach – Zach is part of the bomb squad and also friends with Derrick. There would be no reason for Derrick to backdoor Zach.
 8. Christine – Great move by Christine on outing the Bomb Squad to her buddies before it caused them not to trust her. Whatever alliance ends up taking the lead now, I’m betting Christine will be near the top of it.
 9. Brittany – Brittany shouldn’t be put up as a replacement since she’s friends with Derrick and the boys seem to like her. Brittney still seems to not really have an alliance in the house but we see her gravitating towards Jocasta and Donny. This should keep her in the house longer since no one is going to target them.   9. Nicole – Nicole, you’ve got to put on your big girl pants and start playing like an adult. No more crying when you put “Duck Dynasty” extras up on the block. No more worrying about the ghost that haunts the CBS sound stage. Suck it up!
 10. Victoria – Is Victoria on this show? We’re all confused…where she’s been?
  10. Cody – Smart, likable, in shape, under-the-radar…he’s exactly who I’d be trying to get rid of at this point. I wonder if anyone else realizes that…
 11. Hayden – Hayden is probably safe this week but if Derrick was playing the game for himself he should use the veto to put Hayden up. Hayden isn’t in Derrick’s alliance and Hayden isn’t friends with him, so it would make a lot of sense to put Hayden up and vote out a strong guy! I like Hayden and especially with Nicole but if Derrick wants to win the game he’s got to eliminate the competition!
 11. Victoria – If she was on “Survivor,” I’m thinking they’d be calling her “Purple Victoria.”
 12. Jocasta – Jocasta should be safe this week. Even on the block she shouldn’t be a target since she hasn’t done anything and is friends with most everyone in the house.
 12. Jocasta – She’s like Pow Pow Part Deux. And like Pow Pow, she’s probably not the real target.
 13. Caleb – Caleb volunteered to be on the block this week and then THREW THE BOB so he should go home just because of that. It blows my mind he THREW the BOB for Amber when she doesn’t even like him…you’re not being a gentleman or a hero you’re just being DUMB! You’re on the “Big Brother” Caleb not a dating show.
 13. Caleb – Welp, I put myself on the block and threw a challenge for you. Now you’re going to have to marry me. Seriously, I haven’t seen an unrequited love this sad since Steve Urkel was putting the moves on Laura Winslow.
 14. Devin – Devin, Devin, Devin…what are they going to do with this one? The SMART game move for Derrick would be to keep Devin in the game so there’s a target in the house and Devin isn’t going after Derrick! SO FOR THE HOH it’s a win-win. Plus, Derrick should just get rid of Hayden since he is a strong guy too and likeable!
 14. Devin – OK, I’m fuzzy on the rules. Can Devin volunteer to perform in the Power of Veto competition? If not, that’s kind of messed up that he doesn’t get a chance to protect himself. That being said, it looks like he’s a goner unless he can claim that cool Ghostbuster-esque necklace.

‘Big Brother’ Power Rankings – The Devin Made Me Do It Edition

July 8, 2014

'Big Brother' (CBS)

The Rules: Each week our two combatants will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the two players will earn. For example, if Donny is voted out this week, Rachel will receive 9 points and Gordon will receive 4 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the “Big Brother” Power Rankings Challenge Champion!

Last Week: Rachel and Gordon both had Joey in spot thirteen. So, the current score is Team Rachel 13, Team Gordon 13.

Before we get into this week’s action, let’s check in with our two competitors…

Gordon Holmes: Now that we have the first elimination under our belts, how are you feeling?
Rachel Reilly: I was confused at first with how the game would play out, but now I REALLY love all the twists and changes! I love that there are two HOHs and four nominees, it really forces people to game it up! I also love the Battle of the Block competition, it’s like having a second veto in play. If you don’t win HOH you almost want to be nominated so that you have two chances to save yourself and no chance to get back doored! I would love to play in a game like this because there is basically a game-related competition every day! It also is exciting as a viewer to watch!

Holmes: We have Battles of the Block, Powers of Vetoes, and now Team Americas. “Big Brother” is so confusing!
Reilly: At first I was confused too… but I just started to look at all the opportunities and all the new gaming that people have to do and got excited!
Holmes: Any tips for me so I can stay on top of it all?
Reilly: For a “Survivor” expert like yourself, I think to understand what’s going on you have use your “Survivor” knowledge and look at the first part like that… there’s two HoHs – kinda like two tribes…four people are nominated for eviction… then the four play to win the Battle of the Block (kinda like a “Survivor” challenge the losing team has to vote someone out of their tribe, in “Big Brother” the losing team has to stay on the block). BUT unlike “Survivor” the losing team gets to play for another chance to stay in the house called Power of Veto! POV is like having an immunity idol every week but even better because there’s a new chance to win one every week!
Holmes: That’s actually a pretty solid analogy. But, I don’t quite get Team America yet.
Reilly: I don’t think any of us really know what Team America means yet… but I think once we find out it will be very fun challenges and tasks, and that will come later!

Holmes: So, the last time we saw you was in the “Amazing Race” finale. What’ve you been up to since then?
Reilly: Currently I am hosting and producing a show called “Reality Relapse” on Bite Size TV! YAY I LOVE IT! We talk about all things reality TV (my fav. subject). We cover the hottest gossip, events, red carpets, premieres, and we interview your favorite reality celebs as well as interviewing producers, cast, and everyone involved with your favorite reality TV shows! I also just was cast in two indie movies filming later this year so I’m working on my actressing skills.

Quick Note: “Big Brother” is always going on. These Rankings were handed in Monday.

 1. Devin – Reigning HOH and “I’m in charge-Power HUNGRY” mentality, Devin will be the most safe this week.  The bomb squad alliance is happy he’s in power, but they are all worried that they don’t know what he’s going to do. He lets the power get to him and gushes all his feelings in house meetings and basically throws his alliance under the bus and basically calls out his alliance to the house. Therefore he’s probably going to be a target next week…or the smart houseguests would keep a target in the house! WE WILL SEE!
  1. Devin – Let’s make this clear, Devin…you are only tops on the list because you have immunity. This week has been a train wreck for you. You seem like a bit of a Russell Hantz to me where your strategic logic is sound, but your social game is a disaster. You need to take it easy and show people your less intense side. You do have a less intense side, don’t you?
 2. Hayden – Since they won Battle of the Block this week, they can’t be voted out and can still play in the next HOH! Were not always sure what Hayden is talking about but we love him and this cute budding showmance! Plus they are always smiling and haven’t let being nominated or the house bring them down.    2. Nicole – Yeah, you’re safe, but the ghost thing is weird. You’re an adult. And you’re on a sound stage. Sigh…I dunno. Maybe Zingbot can bring you a proton pack.
 3. Nicole – See Hayden.
  3. Hayden – “Big Brother” may be confusing with its many twists and turns, but at least the top three names on the Power Rankings are pretty easy to figure out.

 4. Amber – Amber is safe this week since Devin is her BFF and she lets him make all her HOH moves. She’s competitive and we all love a competitive woman, but then allows the boys to control her HOH thinking she’s in an alliance with them! She even says she just wanted to see a pic of her family. Trust us…we get it, girl…but ya came to win “Big Brother” not just win pictures of your family, RIGHT? I hope she doesn’t turn out to be the Brittney of the ‘BRO-gade’ Bomb Squad!
  4. Donny – I love me some Donny. And I’m pretty sure Devin’s group meeting will keep him from putting Donny up for eviction if Paola or Brittany manage to win their way off of the block.
 5. Caleb – Caleb is seen with the HOH all week either being used as his puppy or just in every meeting that Devin has. Question we all want to know is; is Caleb sitting in on the meetings because he wants to know what’s going down or because he feels like he needs to keep an eye on Devin?
  5. Caleb – Caleb and Amber sitting in a tree…T-A-L-K-I-N-G. First comes awkwardness, then comes a polite yet firm denial of affection. Then comes Caleb continuing to think of ways to introduce Amber to his parents. (OK, that didn’t come close to rhyming.) What does this mean for Caleb’s game? Who knows? But I believe “Survivor’s” Malcolm Freberg put it best when he warned against getting “Booty blinded.”
 6. Derrick – Derrick is also part of the bomb squad and in pretty good with Devin, we even see Devin going to Derrick for help and advice, meaning he trusts him.
  6. Amber – Devin would be crazy to put Amber up after a veto. First, because she’s a solid Bomb Squad member and stuck to the plan. And second, because Caleb would kill him dead.
 7. Christine – Christine is now an honorary member of the bomb squad and also is BFF with most of the houseguests and in an alliance with Hayden and Nicole.
  7. Derrick – Good to see Derrick sticking to his guns (no pun intended) when the idea of putting a Bomb Squader on the block was floated. Dude’s in a great position with Devin and Caleb getting all of the attention.
 8. Frankie – Frankie is in the bomb squad and also not making any crazy waves with anyone in the house.
 8. Frankie – Much better this week, Frankie. You’re a main member of the Bomb Squad, but you can hang back and be nice to everyone while Devin and Caleb take all the bullets. My only concern for you is this weird thing with Zach. What’s his angle?
 9. Donny – Donny is not in the bomb squad but Devin feels badly that he wanted him out of the house and Donny is just so darn likeable that no one wants to target him!   9. Christine – Learn from Joey, Christine. Don’t let anyone in the Bomb Squad know about the side misfit alliance you have going on. If you play your cards right, you can keep Nicole and Hayden safe long enough to make some noise.
 10. Cody – Cody is part of the bomb squad and also BFF with all the boys! He’s becoming close friends with Brittany and Devin is into him so it’s unlikely he would be considered as a veto replacement.
  10. Zach – Zach seems pretty harmless at this point, but the faux showmance (fauxmance?) with Frankie might raise some flags. If he’s not interested in Frankie as a partner, then what’s his angle? And worse, what if Frankie’s feelings get hurt?
 11. Zach – Zach is part of the bomb squad and also BFF with Frankie who is in with Devin. However, if Zach steps on the wrong toes and Devin makes a move to get out a bomb squad member Zach would be the first to go.
 11. Cody – I feel like Cody is playing the kind of game I’d be playing out there (minus the muscles). Stay socially strong while the alpha males make all the moves. My only worry for Cody? Devin and Caleb might figure out what he’s doing.
 12. Jocasta – She should be pretty safe this week but we don’t really see her at all in the episodes. Most likely because she is not making moves, waves and is not being considered for eviction! This is the thing with Jocasta and 15 houseguests, she’s laying low but that’s all she really needs to do! There’s STILL 15 people in the house and she has NO reason to ruffle feathers this early on! Devin wouldn’t consider her to go up and that means she’s playing a pretty good social game!
 12. Victoria – Uh…you’re still on this show.
 13. Victoria – We don’t really see her a lot this week in the episodes, which means she doesn’t have a lot going on. However due to her not being in the bomb squad and the fact that her alliance is herself and maybe she talks to a few houseguests… She has been rubbing some of the people the wrong way, so there’s a chance when asked that Victoria’s name as a nominee replacement, if one is played, would come up.
 13. Jocasta – If Brittany or Paola manage to win their way off of the block, there aren’t a ton of targets left for the Bomb Squad. That’s the problem with having 40 people in your alliance.
 14. Brittany – Brittany is on my list to make it far in the game! If she can make the house her puppet she will stay this week. She just needs to convince a few people to vote for her. I wouldn’t count this hot mom out for a minute! She’s tough, she’s fighting for a cause and she’s very composed under pressure! She’s one tough cookie and grows on this former houseguest every week! I kinda love her! Being nominated twice in the first 2 weeks and being on slop hasn’t brought her down, in fact it’s starting to make her more outspoken! GET IT, GIRL! If she can make it through this week I think she will continue to go far in the game. Plus she’s using her place on the block to make new friends and create alliances.
 14. Paola – What an interesting role Paola finds herself in. She’s terrible at challenges and not terribly offensive. She’s the perfect person to pair with the person you want to send packing.
 15. Paola – Pow Pow has to be careful since she is on the block AGAIN! One wrong move and she may just piss some people in the house off and go home. She agreed to Devin’s deal to throw the competition but she did it in a way that seems very obvious that she’s throwing the competition. Which could out her deal with Devin and actually make her a target in the house. Pow’s best move this week would be to get Devin use the veto on her OR to nominate a person that she knows will 100% go home and not a gamble like Brittney… Try to turn Devin on the boys that would be an EPIC MOVE!
 15. Brittany – The bad news? You’re one of two people on the block. The worse news? You’re not Paola. If you lose the Power of the Veto competition, you’re heading home. And, that’ll make Devin happy. And, that will make me sad.

‘Big Brother’ Champ Rachel E. Reilly Accepts the Power Rankings Challenge!

July 1, 2014

Rachel E. Reilly (CBS)

Wait a minute…why is XFINITY’s “Survivor” dork doing “Big Brother” Power Rankings?

The truth? CBS got tired of my smart mouth. They’re sick of my braggadocios ways.

You see, for the past four seasons I have been taking their precious Survivors to Power Rankings school. Let’s look at the hit list; Kat Edorsson fell in “Survivor: Philippines,” Michael Skupin was bested in “Survivor: Caramoan,” Malcolm Freberg was defeated in “Survivor: Blood vs. Water,” and Ciera Eastin was dropped in “Survivor: Cagayan.”

Blam.

[xfinity-record-button id=”5666923899412353112″ program_type=”series”]

So, CBS threw out another challenge. If I’m so smart, let’s see how well I do with “Big Brother.”

(Honestly, I don’t know much about “Big Brother.” But, I have never let being woefully under-qualified stop me from doing things in the past, so why start now?)

I accept.

They counter with former “Big Brother” champ, “Amazing Race” finalist, and reality TV expert Rachel E. Reilly as my opponent.

Realizing I’m way out of my league, I reach into my bag and bring out an immunity idol. They inform me that “Big Brother” doesn’t have immunity idols.

Apparently I’m in some serious trouble…

The Rules: Each week our two combatants will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the two players will earn. For example, if Donny is voted out this week, Rachel will receive 16 points and Gordon will receive 15 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the “Big Brother” Power Rankings Challenge Champion.

Quick Note: “Big Brother” is always going on. These Rankings were handed in Monday.

Rachel’s Score = 0

 1. Caleb – As reigning HOH and “Go with the House” mentality, Caleb will be the most safe this week.  He’s making alliances with everyone which will set him up nicely in the house and he’s going with the house on who to nominate and who to back door this week. His BFF for the week Frankie, is listening to whatever he tells him; AND the Bomb Squad alliance he’s made guarantees that he should be safe at least for one more week. I see him working with the HOH next week and keeping his alliance to all the boys. He’s good as long as he doesn’t let his crush on Amber get in the way.   1. Caleb – Alright, I normally wouldn’t be cool with someone wearing a hat in their Power Rankings photo, but Caleb killed it this week, so I’ll let it slide. He won HOH, his nominations lost Battle of the Block, and he founded the dominant “Bomb Squad” alliance. And, he did all of it from the comfort of his nest-shaped bed.  Here’s the thing though; they have alliances of eight people in “Survivor” too. They’re called “Tribes.” A group that big is going to splinter quickly, so he’s going to have to stay on top of things.
 2. Frankie – Frankie made a smart choice this week working with Caleb and being his BFF and Bomb Squad alliance member. There’s no way that Caleb would go against his HOH promise to Frankie. I have to say of all the houseguests this season Frankie stands out the MOST to me, for personality, “Big Brother” knowledge and because he’s a HUGE fan! He may be able to get everyone in his back pocket. I see him teaming up with all the girls, but I also see him aligning with the boys since he is in great shape. His likeable, outgoing, fun personality will get him far in the game and help him win him over allies. His competitive nature and skills from Broadway dance training should help him in the physical competitions and the endurance competitions. He should also have the skills to manipulate the HOH to do what he needs!
  2. Christine – The Bomb Squad Belle is in an awesome position right now. She was brought into the main alliance almost against her will and if anyone’s upset about her being there, it’s all Devin’s fault. She also has an adorable side alliance with Nicole. (Team Glasses? Eight Eyes? I’m bad at this alliance-naming thing.) Best of all, she seems designed to play under the radar. She has all the time in the world to set things up just the way she wants to.
 3. Amber – Amber is safe this week since Caleb is in love with her and she’s not about to piss off the HOH. She’s becoming BFF with the girls and now as an honorary member of the BOMB Squad she has an in with most of the house.
  3. Cody – In “Survivor” when everyone else is playing hard, you sit back. When everyone’s chilling, you step it up. If the same holds true for “Big Brother,” Bomb Squad members who aren’t named Caleb, Devin, or Frankie should be hanging back and making plans for a post-Bomb Squad world.

 4. Christine – Christine is now an honorary member of the Bomb Squad and also is BFF with most of the houseguests and especially the girls in the house. She is also my second pick to go far or win it all! She’s likeable and a big fan of the game which means she will be able to pick apart any crazy twist and may have an edge on the other houseguests.  I see her having friends all over the house and not joining one big alliance. I don’t know how she will perform in competitions, but if needed I think she may be able to pull out a veto win or two.
  4. Amber – The Bomb Squad Bombshell isn’t going anywhere this week. It doesn’t hurt your chances when the most powerful person in the game has a giant crush on you.
 5. Cody – Cody is part of the Bomb Squad and also BFF with all the boys! All the girls love him and there’s NO WAY he would be considered as a veto replacement.
  5. Derrick – OK, if “Survivor” has taught me anything, it’s that cops should create spy shacks and stab everyone in the back. But, if Derrick wants to go another route, he could just make side alliances while waiting for the inevitable Bomb Squad explosion.
 6. Zach – Zach is part of the Bomb Squad and also BFF with Frankie who is in Caleb’s ear constantly determining what needs to happen next. Most of the girls like Zach and wouldn’t throw his name out as a possible replacement this week. I thought he was in trouble but has toned down his game substantially and is even gaining allies.
  6. Brittany – Kudos to Brittany; she took her nomination like a champ and won her way off of the block. Now she needs to find her plan B. Who can she work with that will help her get through the Bomb Squad era?
 7. Derrick – Derrick is part of the Bomb Squad and in a bromance with Caleb. He hasn’t really made a lot of TRUE alliances with the girls but he is still a pretty likeable guys guy and is laying low in the house!
  7. Frankie – How much do I love Frankie? Enough to Google “Ariana Grande.” Apparently, she’s a singer. (What do you want from me? I’m old.) He had a solid first week, but he made one major mistake. He made an enemy out of Victoria when she would have been a nice little side alliance. His reason for picking her was crap, too. Because Caleb took the names he wanted to pick? There are like a dozen other keys in there, dude! So, his next step should probably be to send her packing. Can’t have someone targeting you.
 8. Brittany – Brittney wouldn’t be put up as a replacement since Caleb seems to respect her and she was also already nominated this week. She’s TRYING to become BFFs with the girls and she’s trying to work on being cool with the guys. Brittney is my third pick to win it all this season she is very likeable and seems like she will get along with the houseguests well. I see her aligning with the girls and also having a side alliance with the boys. I think she will try to be in one strong alliance which may hurt her. She seems competitive, has the drive and wants to win so I could see a few HOH wins from her, and I think under pressure she could win a veto if needed.
 8. Zach – Zach Attack! I’m guessing you might be too young to get the “Saved by the Bell” reference there. Are you and the Bomb Squad going to be “Friends Forever”? Super doubtful. But, Caleb and Devin are not going to last long on top of your alliance. Bide your time and play your cards right and you’ll be fine.
9.Victoria – As Frankie’s nominee she wouldn’t be considered as a replacement nominee for Caleb. Even though Victoria has been a little dramatic on the block, most of the girls like her and isn’t even considered a target by anyone in the house.
  9. Nicole – Who is Nicole bothering? Nobody! She’s adorable! She likes to cuddle! She occasionally pees her pants! And she is unrecognizable without her giant glasses. Maybe that’s a strategy she could employ; pretend to be two people with a Superman/Clark Kent-esque costume change.
 10. Hayden – Hayden, Nicole and Jocasta are pretty safe this week. They aren’t making anyone mad, they are making friends and having fun.  Hayden and Nicole even have a little romance going on and possibly a showmance. Hayden isn’t in the Bomb Squad but since he’s friends with most of the girls he shouldn’t really be on anyone’s radar at least not this week.
  10. Victoria – OK, your opening alliance with Frankie didn’t quite work out the way you wanted it to. But, your win has bought you time to turn those lemons into lemonade. If I’m you, I’m really making Frankie feel bad about the nomination. He doesn’t seem like someone who is cool when people don’t like him.  Make him earn his way back into your good graces.
 11. Nicole – See Hayden
 11. Hayden – Hayden Voss! Your name is so close to former “Big Brother” champ and “Survivor” dreamboat Hayden Moss! Are you dating a cute, fun-loving, pre-jury blonde named Nat Vedorsson? Anywho, I’m thinking it can’t be a good sign that you were one of the only guys left out of the Bomb Squad.
 12. Jocasta – See Nicole
 12. Devin – Worst thing you can do to me in real life is wake me up early in the morning. The worst thing you could do to me on “Big Brother” is add people to our alliance without telling me first. Devin did both. I’m thinking Arkansas (I call him that cause he looks like Little Rock) is playing too hard, too fast. He should have a sitdown with Caleb and smooth things over ASAP.
 13. Joey – Joey could be in trouble if the veto gets used.  She told people about the girls’ alliance so the girls feel that they can’t trust her.
 13. Joey – Joey’s hilarious facial expressions? Awesome. Her letting the girls’ alliance cat out of the bag? Less so. She isn’t someone who would make a normal first target, so why is she giving people reasons?
 14. Paola – Pow Pow has to be careful since she is on the block, one wrong move and she may just piss some people in the house off and go home. She’s working on becoming friends with the girls and hasn’t really gone crazy as a nominee. She’s really bad at the competitions so far. Which means there’s a good chance no one considers her a threat.
 14. Jocasta – “Big Brother” sure seems like a young person’s game and I’m worried that Jocasta isn’t going to fit in. Love the bow ties, though.
 15. Devin – Devin is in HOT water for bringing two girls into the bomb squad alliance. He is also rubbing some of the girls the wrong way. He’s not making friends quickly and is acting like he should have a big say in all HOH actions this week. Will the boys keep him for numbers and as a target or will they want to sever ties with him since he’s proving he doesn’t keep secrets very well!
 15. Donny – I’m not going to get too brave with my final two picks this week. I think the only way the Power of Veto is going to come into play is if Donny or Paola wins it. It doesn’t seem like anyone else would be too keen on saving them at this point. So, why Donny over Paola? Because I think if Devin relaxes about the spaghetti jokes, he’ll realize that having Donny in his pocket is a good thing.
  16. Donny – Donny is the target for the house this week. He will have to win veto or he will have to work out a deal with the HOH. If he can work out a deal even if he doesn’t win veto he could still guarantee his safety. Typically, in Big Brother we see the FIRST HOH nominate a replacement if the veto is played. The replacement is typically the target who will go home. He is very likable but someone has to go home the first week.
  16. Paola – I think Paola is a goner unless the Power of Veto competition involves advanced harmonic mixing (yes, I Googled ‘DJ techniques’ too). With an alliance as big as the Bomb Squad running things right now, you’re a nice easy first vote that won’t rattle too many cages.
