OK, “Big Brother” is ending tonight and “Survivor” is beginning. Also, this Friday marks the premiere of “The Amazing Race.”

Wait, “Amazing Race” isn’t on Sunday anymore? And why are “The Amazing Race’s” Twinnies on “Survivor”? And why are “Survivor’s” Keith and Whitney on “The Amazing Race”?

So confusing. Fortunately, CBS’s new reality maven (although he doesn’t like that title) Jeff Schroeder will be able to clear up all of these mysteries and more when he takes the reins of CBS.com’s “Survivor Live” and the new show “CBS Reality Remix.”

I spoke with the former “Big Brother” and “Amazing Race” contestant shortly after the announcement of the new shows and had a chance to ask him about his new gig, his hosting style, and what the “Big Brother” house really smells like…

Gordon Holmes: Now what’s this I hear about you having a big announcement today?
Jeff Schroeder: Well, I have two big announcements, actually. I’m going to be doing two shows on CBS.com, one the “Survivor Live” show which is awesome because I’m a huge fan. And then, we’re going to be doing, kind of like a best-of thing for “Survivor” and “Amazing Race,” kind of like what’s viral for that week and the hot topics. I couldn’t be more excited.
Holmes: “Survivor” Hall of Famer Parvati Shallow was the previous host of “Survivor Live,” so you’re stepping into some pretty big shoes. What new things do you bring to the table?
Schroeder: I’m definitely not trying to fill any shoes. She was a master of the game, one of the best to play ever. And she brings a different angle than I do. I’m bringing more of a fan’s perspective. I’m a fan of the show; I’ve never played that game. I have an interesting perspective having played “Big Brother” and “The Amazing Race.” I think the questions that I have are going to be closer to the fans’ questions as opposed to being inside the game. I’m going to be more of a fan, which is great because we want interaction with the fans.

Holmes: What’re your early thoughts on the return of the “Blood vs. Water” twist?
Schroeder: The first thought that goes in is the layers to the voting. I’m a recent fan to “Survivor.” I watched the last five or six seasons and “Blood vs. Water” one with Hayden (Moss) from “Big Brother” was one of them. And I was a huge fan. But the voting process from “Blood vs. Water” to regular “Survivor,” it’s a lot different to have your loved one there. I could relate to that, because every reality show I’ve done with CBS, I’ve had my loved one there. I can relate to the thinking process.
Holmes: Say you’re out there with your new fiancee Jordan…you think you could vote her out?
Schroeder: (Laughs) No matter what happens she’d make it further than me. I don’t know if I could vote her out.
Holmes: Who do you like from the new cast?
Schroeder: I was a big fan of John Rocker. I’m an older guy, so I want to see his antics. That’s the big thing I’m looking forward to. I’m hoping he stays in the game a little bit longer and gets crazy like John Rocker does.
Holmes: As a Cardinals fan, you won’t catch me supporting John Rocker.
Schroeder: (Laughs) It’s reality TV! You want to see the outbursts. And I think John Rocker is going to bring those moments. And a younger audience, who may not know who John Rocker is, hopefully this gives them a bit of a surprise.

Holmes: Now speaking of Jordan, not everyone gets to propose on national television. What was that process like?
Schroeder: It was a couple of months coming. We had this idea floating around for a while. And working with CBS, and Fly on the Wall, “Big Brother,” and CBS.com, it was a team effort for sure. We finally whittled it down to a date and that last week was just craziness. It was a total surprise. Jordan thought we were going to host a competition. I had her family fly in, my family fly in, I was juggling all that. People are texting me, it was a super stressful day. And Jordan had no clue. I had no idea how she didn’t find out. Then the day of was just amazing. The yard looked awesome. She was totally shocked. Everyone did a great job. Then we had Brett Eldredge come in and sing that song. It was just a perfect song. It was the perfect day. We’ve watched it 100 times at least. The way it happened, we were so blown away that we almost missed the moment.
Holmes: I’m picturing the biggest day of your life. You’re very nervous. You enter the house for your special moment…and you come face to face with that smell.
Schroeder: (Laughs)
Holmes: Did that almost ruin the mood?
Schroeder: They’d just made lunch and they’d been in there a long time. The smell was a combination of sandwiches and feet. I’d been in there twice, I feel their pain. Other people have told me, “When you guys leave, it stinks in there.” I was giving them a hard time. Cody was mortified. But, it lightened the mood.
Holmes: This is perfect for you. “Survivor” players are used to smelling bad.
Schroeder: Exactly! The more I grow, the more I learn.

Holmes: Alright, break out your crystal ball. “Big Brother” finale tonight. What’s going to happen?
Schroeder: Derrick’s going to win that final HOH challenge. And I don’t think he’s going to take his boy Cody. He’s going to take Victoria and they’re going to be the final two. Cody is going to be bitter, but Derrick is going to reveal his inner workings in the house. He’s going to reveal that he’s a police officer. I don’t think Victoria has a chance against Derrick…or even Cody. So, I think Derrick wins the money. Cody will be upset that he takes third. Victoria will take second. And Donny takes home America’s Favorite.
Holmes: When it’s all said and done, where do you think Derrick will rank amongst the all-time champs?
Schroeder: In my eyes, in getting to know the game and watching him play. His moves were so calculated.  He’d walk into a room and someone would be thinking one thing, and he’d make them think what he wanted them think. I’ve never seen anything like it. Maybe the closest is Dan or Dr. Will. So, I’d put Derrick definitely in the top five of game players of all time.

Holmes: So, now that you’re the go-to guy for CBS reality, do you get an official title? Like a reality maven?
Schroeder: (Laughs) Just Jeff works for me. I’m a regular guy and I think that’s why I can relate to these shows and the people who watch these shows are like me. I can speak for them and ask the questions they want to ask. And with social media I can get their exact questions. And if the people have any questions for the “Survivor” castaways they can use the hashtag “#survivorlive.”

Eleven Things I Love About ‘Big Brother’ (And One Thing I’d Change)

September 23, 2014

'Big Brother' (CBS)

It isn’t exactly breaking news to admit that I’m a “Survivor” guy through and through. I’ve been to the set of “Survivor” on several occasions, I have Malcolm Freberg’s personal number in my phone (sorry, ladies), and I have a tattoo of Jeff Probst’s face on my left ankle.

OK, that last one is a lie.

[xfinity-record-button id=”5666923899412353112″ program_type=”series”]

But my love for “Survivor” is true. And for that reason, I thought I could never be a “Big Brother” guy. With the crazy sets, the confusing rules, the weird competitions, and the yelling during confessionals? No way.

Then Rachel Reilly and CBS challenged me to the “Big Brother” Power Rankings and I was forced to watch every episode. I had to look beyond the silliness and try to devise strategies and figure out individual motivations. And at some point when Zach was screaming at a camera or when Victoria was arrogantly tilting her head or when Caleb said “Daggum” for the hundredth time I realized I was starting to care about these people.

So, apparently Derrick is my Richard Hatch, Nicole is my Colleen Haskell, and I’m kind of hooked on “Big Brother.”

In an effort to explain this unexpected phenomenon, I’ve put together a list of the things that turned the tide and the one thing I’d I change about the show if I had the Power of Veto…

Watch Full Episodes of ‘Big Brother’ on Your Computer!

1.    Alliance Names – OK, I’d like to preface this by saying “The Hitmen” is a pretty stupid team name. But, the fact that these names exist and are embraced is hilarious. Listening to Caleb beam with pride as he says “I created the Bomb Squad” never failed to crack me up. I expect to see that on his resume someday.

2.    Ridiculous Punishments – Nicole in her Germitard and Caleb and Victoria tethered together were pretty funny. But watching Cody stalk around in his dinosaur costume was priceless.

3.    No Host (Most of the Time) – “Survivor: One World,” featured a few challenges without host Jeff Probst. It was way awkward. Fortunately it didn’t survive the season. However, when “Big Brother” has a houseguest dress up and host a challenge, it tends to be adorable.

4.    No “Winner’s Edit” – Savvy viewers of “Survivor” have learned that if a person isn’t getting much screen time, they’re probably not going to win. With “Big Brother” this isn’t a problem because nobody knows who is going to take the top prize.

5.    Zingbot! – Before I accepted this challenge from CBS, Zingbot was the only “Big Brother” thing I was particularly fond of. And I’m happy to say that he (she?) did not disappoint this season. Ziiiiiing!

6.    Gameplay – I don’t have a crystal ball, but I’m willing to bet that Derrick is going to be $500,000 richer on Wednesday night. The show has done a great job showing us all of the big and not-so-big moves that should land him that fat check. Seriously, I wanted to high five my TV when he knew he had to get rid of Nicole after she complimented his game.

7.    Blood on Your Hands – In “Survivor” a person can be sent packing and never know who was responsible for their exit. The Head of Household angle lets the evictee know exactly who  put them on the chopping block.

8.    Brittany – What? Don’t judge me…

9. Taunts in the Opening – Wrestling video games always have a special button that will let your character do their signature taunt. Hulk Hogan cups his hand to his ear, John Cena waves his hand in front of his face, and the Undertaker kneels and thrusts his palm to the sky. I like to think that’s what the “Big Brother” contestants are doing in the opening.

10. Team America – I didn’t care for this concept at first. But, the stolen goods challenge caused the house turning against Zach when they thought he was the saboteur. And, the pretend rat challenge led to Cody spending the evening standing on a chair. Awesome.

11.    TVGN’s “Big Brother After Dark” – Like I said above, I’ve been on location to “Survivor” on several occasions. While we’re there, we get to visit the tribe camps. It’s usually pretty boring, but at the same time it’s kind of fascinating. This feeling is perfectly recreated with “Big Brother After Dark.” I might not have learned much about the game, but I learned a ton about the players and how they interact with each other. You’ll never get me to admit how much time I spent watching them play pool this summer. But, let’s just say I’ve seen more ads for “The Sorrentinos” than any human should have to endure.

And the one thing I’d change…

1.    Make the Reigning HOH Eligible for All HOH Competitions – One of the best parts of “Survivor” is the fact that even if you’re down seven votes to one, you can still save yourself with an immunity win. That isn’t true on “Big Brother.” If you’re the reigning HOH and you aren’t put on the block and you aren’t picked to compete in the POV competition, you can be voted out with ever having a chance to save yourself.

It’s a minor change, but I think it’s one worth implementing. But either way, I’ll be watching next summer.

‘Big Brother’ Power Rankings – And-the-Winner-Is… Edition

September 23, 2014

'Big Brother' (CBS)

The Rules: Each week our two combatants will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the two players will earn. For example, if Victoria is voted out this week, Rachel will receive 3 points and Team XFINITY will receive 2 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the “Big Brother” Power Rankings Challenge Champion!

[xfinity-record-button id=”5666923899412353112″ program_type=”series”]

Last Week: Gordon and Rachel both had Frankie in spot five. So, the current score is Team Rachel 117, Team Gordon 111.

However, Gordon has decided to admit defeat, seeing as there is no way to top Rachel’s score. So, the 2014 XFINITY “Big Brother” Power Rankings Champion is Rachel Reilly!

Let’s check in with the new champ…

Gordon Holmes: You’ve dominated this whole season. I’m throwing in the towel. I’m tapping out. Do you want to be known as the XFINITY “Big Brother” Power Rankings Champion or the XFINITY “Big Brother” Power Rankings Beast Mode Cowgirl?
Rachel Reilly: I think I clearly have to be known as XFINITY’s Beast Mode Cowgirl. And Gordon, don’t you know “NOBODY COMES BETWEEN ME AND MY XFINITY DOMINATION SKILLS!” Plus you can’t take on a “Big Brother: champ, everyone that does gets evicted. 😉

Holmes: Fair enough. I’ve enjoyed this season a lot. But, it’s really my first rodeo. As someone who’s an expert, where does this season rank among the previous seasons? (With the season you won being first, of course.)
Reilly: I really like this season, it’s one of my favorites in a long time. The cast was amazing, it was hard to root for someone to go home, every week I wanted them to both stay. The cast was entertaining, even people that argue that there was no gameplay have to give it up for the personalities. There was gameplay, Derrick took control early on and people liked him and trusted him. Frankie played his lil’ heart out and we saw him killing comps and up to his eviction he was playing the game. Caleb was amazing at comps also even if he was Derrick’s pawn he stayed loyal to a fault, I think we will see Cody stay loyal to Derrick til’ the end also. I think this season will always be talked about as one of the best.

Holmes: Speaking of Derrick, do you think there was any point where someone could have stepped up and challenged his dominance?
Reilly: I think if the girls alliance would have made a move earlier in the game and actually done something they could have taken Derrick out, however NO ONE wanted too. Also to do this they would have had to have Nicole, Amber, Brittany, Christine and maybe pulled a few guys to their side. The girls just didn’t want to make a move against the boys. They were very trusting of them and assumed the boys wouldn’t go after all the girls. This wasn’t a smart game move. There was also a chance that Frankie, Zach, and Caleb could have gone up against Derrick, Cody, and Victoria and they would have taken them out most likely but Frankie didn’t feel comfortable working with Zach and Caleb never really trusted Frankie after the Amber thing. Even if this all would have played out I think we would still see Derrick in the final three, he’s just likeable and a smart gamer.

Holmes: What’s next on your agenda now that you have a Power Rankings championship under your belt?
Reilly: Well now that I am the Power Rankings champ…I plan to take over the Power Rankings world! (hehe) If only there were a Power Rankings $500k prize! 🙂
Holmes: I’ll work on that for next season.

 1. Derrick – Derrick will win “Big Brother 16.” He’s really earned his place amongst the winners and I think he will be talked about as one of the best winners in “Big Brother” history. I don’t know that anyone would ever doubt his game play or his BB skills.
  1. Derrick – It’s like I said in my piece about why I’m now a “Big Brother” fan; Derrick is this season’s Richard Hatch. In Richard Hatch’s final competition, it didn’t matter who won because he was going to be taken to the end and he was going to win. The only way that doesn’t happen is if Cody realizes how much the jury loves Derrick. But, if he can’t see that while the jury is in the house, he’s not going to see it when they’re out.
 2. Cody – Cody MOST likely will be #2 and the winner of a brand new 50k! And I am OK with that! I would be disappointed if Victoria won 2nd but if Cody’s the runner up I can handle that. I thought that there was a chance that Victoria would be taken to final two and that the boys would be dumb not to take her but with Cody and Derrick in the final three I think that Cody knows Derrick will win and is OK with that. He’s loyal to the end. If Cody won the final HOH and took Victoria then he would deserve the 500k because that would be the biggest move of the season
  2. Victoria – I think Victoria has a 2/3rds chance of making it to the final two. Either she’ll become the final HOH (stop laughing), or Derrick will win and take her along. I know it’s bad form to stab your fellow Hitman in the back, but taking Victoria is a guaranteed win.
 3. Victoria – Victoria, well…I’ll actually be happy to see her go home third! This is a third placer that I wouldn’t be disappointed in going. It’s like in season 13 when Adam went home third. He didn’t play the game really all season so you only wanted him to go to the final two if the winner needed a guaranteed win. Victoria has done LESS then Adam!
  3. Cody – Like I said above, there is only one path that has Cody accepting a $500K check, and it involves sending Derrick packing. I don’t think Cody will do this because I don’t think he appreciates how much the jury likes and respects Derrick. It’s going to be a rough night for Cody, he’s gonna lose out on big bucks, and he’s going to have to avoid Christine’s husband.

 1. Caleb – Caleb is safest this week as HOH, however he has a week to make some deals and use his HOH to make a big move… and the smartest move for his game ISN’T to get Frankie out! Cody, Derrick, and Victoria want to be final three which leaves Caleb the last man standing next week and with him not being able to play in an HOH next week he REALLY needs to be smart! He could target Cody and try to make a deal with Frankie OR he could ensure that Victoria goes home this week and make a deal with Frankie. Basically Cody and Derrick are super close and Victoria is a great person to bring to final two…so that means Caleb needs to play this hand well or he’s out next week.
  1. Caleb – You watching, Amber? Beast Mode is over you. He’s moved on to Mila Kunis. I hope you “Heard dat!” Caleb learned from his past HOH challenge mistakes and did not repeat them. He’s livin’ large in the nest-shaped bed and he put his buddy Frankie on the block. Is that a big enough move to earn the jurors respect? We shall see.
 2. Derrick – Derrick is safe because…well…it’s Derrick. Enough said!   2. Cody – OK, let’s talk about the rewind. I thought they were going to replay the whole week during the show. I was actually really excited about that. So, to learn that we’d have to replay the whole week in real-time, the same challenges, etc. was a bit of a letdown. Having to re-do Power Rankings was also a letdown. However, Cody going back into the dinosaur costume outweighs all of that bad.
 3. Cody – Cody is safe since he is BFF with Derrick and for some reason thinks that him playing backseat all season to Derrick’s game can keep him around. Well, when Frankie’s in the house it will, but will Derrick pick Victoria over Cody next week if Caleb wins veto? These are my predictions, but the way the game is playing out it seems that Frankie will go home this week, Caleb next, and Victoria, Cody, and Derrick will be final three!
  3. Victoria – Right now I’m thinking there is no way Victoria is going home. She is a guaranteed $500,000 check for whoever takes her to the end. I’m thinking either Frankie wins the POV and saves himself or Frankie loses and the guys send him packing. Either way, the person sitting next to Victoria is in major trouble.

 4. Victoria – Victoria is safe unless Caleb wises up and realizes that she’s going to be taken to the final two so he SHOULD take her out now and make a deal.  Vic soooo shouldn’t be in the game now but since it’s “Big Brother” the person who shouldn’t be in the game at this point usually stays in the game since it’s the smartest thing for the person who wants to win
  4. DerrickDerrick has done a really good job shielding how good of a game he’s been playing, but I don’t remember any of the jurors dissing him when they came back into the house. Someone has to pick up on how well he’s playing and how well-liked he is by the jury. A Frankie POV win could spell the end for the season’s best player.
 5. Frankie – Frankie is in a GRANDE-size SITUATION! After his gameplay last week he basically nailed his coffin for this week. He’s too competitive to not be considered a threat and too social for people to want to keep him around. Basically he’s the guy to beat right now and he’s on the block so unless he wins Veto he’s going home. 😦
 5. Frankie – Frankie’s got to see it coming, doesn’t he? There’s no reason to make Frankie a pawn when Derrick has never been on the block. If he doesn’t win POV, he’s a goner.

‘Big Brother’ Power Rankings – Be Kind, Rewind Edition

 1. Frankie – Frankie is safest since he won HOH but the house hit the reset so he may make it this week but be a target the next.
  1. Caleb – So, with the Rewind button in play, we’re ranking based off of…nothing! Everything will be reset! This is like “Survivor” rankin’! Color me giddy! Exclamation points! Anywho, no matter who ends up taking over the nest-shaped bed, the “Dagum” Beast-Mode Cowboy is probably safe. (Also, bonus points for his “Major Payne” impersonation.)
 2. Derrick – Frankie’s bro and BFF is safe because he didn’t nominate Frankie during the double eviction.
  2. Derrick – I heard Nicole complimenting his game and I knew she was a goner. Another in a looooong list of smart moves from Derrick. A possible liability is gone, it wasn’t his fault, and she’ll totally vote for him. Not only that, but she’ll probably convince Hayden to vote for him too. So good. Right now the only way Derrick doesn’t get to the final two is if Frankie is the one making the call.
 3. Caleb – Caleb is safer then Cody this week only because Frankie and Cody haven’t formed a bond as tightly as Caleb and Frankie. But, if the veto is won by Cody it’s most likely Caleb being the replacement.
  3. Cody – Let’s say the rewind button was never pushed and the POV wasn’t used. It’d take either Derrick or Caleb voting to send Cody home. I just don’t see it. It isn’t in either guy’s best interest.

 4. Victoria – Victoria is safe because, well, she’s Victoria. I actually didn’t realize someone could be so bad at the game in all ways and almost guarantee themselves $50k.  Sweet deal she has going on.
  4. Victoria – I’m convinced the only reason you were cast on this show was to scream when Ariana Grande was mentioned.
 5. Cody – Cody is at the bottom this week but if he wins veto he’ll stay another week and probably go after Frankie in the rewind. Heck, even if he’s voted out he stays and will go after Frankie.
 5. Frankie – I really hope the camera is in tight on Frankie’s face when that countdown clock hits zero. Hilarious. However, I don’t want to take anything away from Frankie. The guy’s a challenge machine and he’s the only one who realizes how big of a threat Derrick is. If the Hitmen have a shot this week, they should take it.

 1. Cody – As reigning HOH this week, Cody is the safest! He could make a big move and try to put up a strong male threat like Caleb or Frankie…but alas, he probably won’t. And it could cost him a win in the game…playing Derrick’s game.
  1. Cody – Good news: You’re the HOH in a week where the block picks are obvious and you probably won’t suffer too much for them. Bad news: You can’t win HOH next week when the Detonators could finally explode. You’d better hope for a Derrick HOH win.
 2. Derrick – Derrick is probably the second most safe! Lets just put this out there, UNLESS someone notices soon, Derrick is going to win the whole thing!
  2. Derrick – I stand by my belief that Derrick is playing the best game. He seems to have all of the angles covered.
 3. Christine – Christine is Cody’s showmance and flirtmance and basically thinks he’s the best thing since sliced bread and does whatever he says.  So, she’s pretty safe this week. She will throw a comp and vote the way the boys tell her to, but will she just sit back and let them win 500k? Only time will tell.
  3. Frankie – I’m not ready to talk about you, Frankie. I’m still mourning the loss of Zankie.

 4. Victoria – AGAIN Victoria is safe since well…who wants to get her out at this point? She’s worthless at comps and has a horrible social game so anyone that brings her to final two is guaranteed a win.  Which means VICTORCIA MAY MAKE 50k this summer for being cast on the show. Uggggghhhhh!
  4. Caleb – I’m not sure how it happened, but it seems like Frankie is a bigger threat than Caleb. The Stealth-Mode Cowboy has become a bit of an afterthought. Could he sneak in and win the whole thing from the less-famous Grande sibling?
 5. Caleb – Caleb is friends with Cody and listens to what the boys say. Also Caleb is one of Derrick’s minions. So, Derrick has final say in all HOHs which means Caleb will be safe again this week. If Caleb wanted to he could use his beast mode skills to take out Derrick and Cody and make a new alliance, but I doubt this will happen. 😦
 5. Christine – Christine might be in the best spot right now. When the dominant alliance splits up you’re going to have Cody and Derrick on one side and Frankie and Caleb on the other. Victoria will go with Cody and Derrick, and she might be able to call her shot based on who’s HOH. Should be interesting.
 6. Frankie – Frankie is safe because Donny and Nicole are still in the house. But if he wants to win the game, he’s been playing all the wrong cards. He would need to take Caleb and Nicole and start now to push out Derrick, Christine, and Cody. Maybe we can hope it’ll happen?
  6. Victoria – Kathy Griffin just gift wrapped a big hint for you in a hilarious package…and it went right over your head. Sigh… You are not playing this game. You are relaxing in your cozy spot in Derrick’s pocket.
 7. Nicole – Nicole is going to be fighting a battle til’ she’s voted out of the house.  At this point, she’s too good of a player for the boys to want to keep around. Unless she can win every veto and pull Frankie and Caleb to her side, she’ll be the next to go.  No one can win every comp, sadly!
  7. Nicole – Nicole’s back in the game! She’s gonna mix things up! Look out dominant alliance! She’s come to kick butt and chew bubblegum! She…she’s the first one out of the HOH competition…and she’s on the block…and she’d be a goner if people weren’t terrified of Donny.  Welp…some twists fall flat. This seems like it’s one of them.
 8. Donny – Donny is the lowest man of the bunch and too nice to say or do anything to throw people under the bus, even if it means sacrificing his own game! 😦 Sad to say looks like the house will be a little less country next week. WE WILL MISS YOU, DONNY!
 8. Donny – Donny’s been on the block forever, and it looks like his time has finally come. He can sneak into Cody’s bedroom at the crack of dawn all he wants, but it’s a little too soon for the Detonators to turn on each other. If he can’t pull off another POV victory, he’s a goner.

 1. Frankie – Reigning HOH Frankie is safest again this week! With Frankie in power a Detonators or Bomb Squad guy is safe! HOWEVER they have an alliance of 6 in a house of 8! SO SOMEONE HAS TO MAKE A MOVE SOON!
  1. Frankie – I’ve never heard an Ariane Grande song, but she’s already my least favorite pop star.  The condescending manner with which Frankie revealed his big secret has turned me off to her forever. Ugh… Anywho, he’s safe for this week, but if everyone really does think he’s the most popular player, they should get rid of him quick.
 2. Derrick – Derrick is probably the second most safe even though. He should be first out! Frankie should make a move now to get out Derrick or Derrick is going to win this whole thing!
  2. Donny – How on Earth is Donny still in this game? A nuclear bomb could hit the “Big Brother” house and all that would be left is Donny and a handful of cockroaches. Love him.
 3. Donny – Donny won BOTB with Christine, and he won it alone since Christine was passing bones to the boys in the other team. UGGGH WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF DONNY! He always saves himself, now WIN AN HOH DONNY AND KICK THESE BOYS OUT!
  3. Christine – Well…at least you actively tried to throw the challenge unlike Caleb.

 4. Christine – Christine is safe since she won BOTB with Donny. I half wish she wasn’t so that she could go home this week just because of what dumb moves she’s made in the game. However since she’s still in the game I guess her moves haven’t been that dumb… but we will see how the guys treat her. I think she’ll get Brigaded!
  4. Derrick – The way Derrick defused the Zach/Victoria thing was masterful. He’s clearly the smartest person in the house and the best player.
 5. Victoria – Valerie…ahem…Victoria is safe because well she’s still in the game? Even the boys say why get rid of her at this point, she doesn’t really talk and since Derrick has her wrapped around his finger there’s no way he’ll let her go home yet…
 5. Zach – It was probably smart to kiss and make up with Frankie. The last thing you need is someone in your alliance openly targeting you. That being said, it’s time for Frankie to go home. He’s proven he can’t be trusted and he’s got a killer story for the end of the game.
 6. Zach – Zach is always at the bottom of the boys alliance and with his outbursts they don’t care if he’s around… WHAT WILL WE DO WITHOUT ZANKIE!?!?! That’s the important question…
  6. Victoria – Someone’s going to win the POV competition, and you’re the only person that can be nominated without rustling feathers. (“Survivor” joke)
 7. Cody – Cody isn’t going anywhere, let’s just put that out there. They wont vote him out as long as he smiles and takes off his shirt and acts like he can’t do anything. Cody is like Victoria but has a better six pack!
  7. Caleb – I hate to say this, but the Beast Mode Cowboy is starting to grow on me. I don’t know if it’s the recently shaved head or how proud he is of creating the biggest alliance in the history of the world, but he cracks me up. Hopefully he can POV his way out of this mess.
 8. Caleb – Caleb’s beast mode may be in trouble since he’s proven he can win at comps and can’t be controlled. Derrick has set his minions up pretty well and since Caleb is one of his followers it may save him but he has to convince Frankie to get his closest ally out of the house. DON’T DO ANYTHING CRAZY, FRANKIE!
 8. Cody – Cody the Cuddler should be high on everyone’s elimination list. He’s in the dominant alliance as well as 47 other minor alliances and isn’t on anyone’s bad side. Next to Donny, he’s most likely to win. Send him home.

Team XFINITY’s Score = 75

 1. Christine – As reigning HOH, Christine is in control of the house and stepping up her game… now if ONLY she would step up her social skills and realize that she is totally going to get bomb squad/detonator/ blown up if she doesn’t make a side alliance ASAP!
  1. Christine – Even without being the reigning HOH, Christine is probably the safest person in the house. But, she’s got to be thinking about end-game at this point. Who can she beat? Caleb? Probably. Derrick or Cody? Probably not. Victoria? Definitely. Might be smart to keep her around.
 2. Caleb – Even though Beast-Mode Cowboy threw the competition he won Battle of the Block and is safe… how much longer is he going to be safe especially when he is sitting out of competitions? We are all confused how he’s still in the game but when the house is run by Derrick and he is a loyal follower he will most likely be around longer.   2. Frankie – I’d never heard of Ariana Grande before I started watching this season. I don’t know any of her music. I’ve never seen any of her videos (do pop stars still make videos?). But because of her brother and his way of leeching off of her fame, I can’t stand her. I’m hoping she’s less the next Boyz II Men and more the next Shai.
 3. Frankie – Frankie won Battle of the Block so he is safe and he also won Battle of the Block alone so I give him a lot of credit! He just has a lot of game to catch up on…
  3. Caleb – Alright, Beast-Mode Cowboy. You were supposed to throw the challenge. By sitting out of the challenge, you kind of gave Frankie an advantage. You see, the chain pulling required delicate maneuvering. That’s something that’s easier for one brain to figure out, than for two brains to try to communicate. It was good drama, but it was a dumb move.

 4. Derrick – Derrick is BFF with Christine and for some reason she thinks he is so smart! We’re not sure if this friendship is real but Derrick is playing such a good game I want to align with him! Derrick is playing by far the best game, actually he is the only one playing a good game… and he’s running the game and no one cares!
  4. Cody – Cody is just kind of there. He doesn’t bother anybody. He doesn’t come up often in people’s plans. But, he’s in control of like 40 alliances. He’s got to be the favorite to win right now.
 5. Cody – Cody is caught in the middle…he’s friends with everyone but not making any moves and not winning anything and not really doing anything but as long as he takes his shirt off there’s no logical reason to vote him out. #eyecandy LET’S BE REAL!
  5. Derrick – As a first-time viewer of “Big Brother,” it looks like Derrick is playing the best game. But, other people have to be noticing that, right? Surely they’re setting him up for an end-of-the-game blindside.
 6. Victoria – Wait, is she still in the house? No one really knows…

  6. Nicole – The good news is; the ‘Froot Loop Dingus’ is finally playing. All it took was her boyfriend getting voted out of the house. The bad news is; she’s on Frankie’s bad side…and Christine’s…and she’s going to have friends on the jury. Might be time to send her packing.
 7. Nicole – Nicole may not be on the block but girl’s got attitude and hell hath NO fury like a woman scorned, especially when that woman is alone in the house. If she makes it this week she will continue to be a target but I have faith she’s going to ROCK IT OUT! Nicole is fierce! She is in this game to win and she will fight til’ the house evicts her. WATCH OUT HOUSE!
  7. Victoria – Here’s where “Survivor” differs from “Big Brother.” On “Survivor,” they’d pick off all of the threats and leave Victoria for last. On “Big Brother” the HOHs don’t want to get blood on their hands, so they constantly target the person who isn’t threatening. With Jocasta gone, Victoria is the last floater standing.
 8. Zach – Zach was totally the target last week and his outbursts put a HUGE target on him. However he is in the boys alliance and they don’t mind his outbursts now because it keeps the target off him. Plus, don’t we all love Zankie?
 8. Zach – Yeah, a lot of people are annoyed with you right now, but I don’t think you’re really a threat to win. The person everyone should be worried about going to the finals with is one spot below you.
 9. Donny –  Donny is not in a good spot he really has no alliance and while he kicks butt at vetos and has been able to save him self now 3 times he still doesn’t have the numbers and no one can win every competition. He’s a member of Team America so hopefully that will keep him safe, even though Derrick is trying to convince Frankie he’s not with them. 😦
  9. Donny – You’ve got to win POV, Donny. It’s your only hope.

 1. Frankie – As reigning HOH Frankie is safest this week and the house loves him right now! No one even thinks about getting him out!
  1. Frankie – A rough week for Frankie with the loss of his grandfather. But, it seems like the other houseguests are a good support system for him. The question now is; does he follow through with Zach’s plan to backdoor Amber? I’m thinking he shouldn’t because with Christine thinking of jumping ship, the Detonators need to keep Caleb and Amber happy.
 2. Zach – Frankie’s BFF and the other HOH is safe this week even though Team America makes him look like a jerk at the nomination ceremony and let the power go to his head. No one in the house would dare try to get Frankie to re-nom or back door his HOH BFF! Zach is letting power go to his head.   2. Christine – Kudos to you for not biting when Zach and his attack tried to rile you up at the nomination ceremony. But you’ve got to appreciate that the reign of the Detonators is rapidly coming to an end. It’s time for you to cash in on your Nicole/Hayden alliance and team up with the stragglers and take control.
 3. Nicole – Nicole and Christine are safe since they won the BOTB. I am hoping that both Nicole and Christine see that they are at the bottom of the boys’ alliance and step up and start to realize that if they don’t make a move soon they are the next targets!
  3. Nicole – What was going on after your nomination? I’ve never heard such a perfect balance of laughing and crying. It was unsettling. Anywho, you’re as safe as the “Big Brother” ghost in non-existent.

 4. Christine – Christine is SO SO SO SO DUMB calling Amber out to the boys, it makes no sense that she trusts them in an alliance. Christine is also a dummy for talking too much, she could use this cards shes been dealt and hang out but she’s getting herself in trouble!
  4. Derrick – Nobody is playing a better game than Derrick. He isn’t making waves, he’s talking to everyone, the person who should be angriest with him is now spending time with his daughter. But, it isn’t smooth sailing for our Hitmen…
 5. Derrick – Derrick is acting as the head of the Detonators, Frankie is BFF with him and they have a lot in common. There is no way they would even consider him.
  5. Cody – …I’m mainly thinking about how Zach blew up the Detonators a little too early when he nominated Christine. It might be smart to team with Christine, Nicole, and Hayden as the house’s new dominant clique.
 6. Cody – Cody is part of their boys’ alliance and nice to look at, so Frankie doesn’t want to get rid of him. Cody and Frankie are bros and it’s too early for them to target their power alliance.
  6. Zach – Alright, broski…I’m not sure where I can get my copy of the “Big Brother Dictionary” but I’m pretty sure next to the entry for “Person Playing for 2nd Place” there’s a picture of the Zach Attack. These people have to vote for the winner, right? I’m understanding this correctly? Also, that little thing they keep clipping to your body is a microphone. You don’t have to yell.
 7. Hayden – Hayden is safe again somehow – I like this guy and almost find myself rooting for him more since he’s not in the boys’ alliance and they aren’t targeting him. I mean HELLLLLO he’s a boy that could go head to head with most of these boys and they would rather keep him over someone in their own alliance. REALLY, “BIG BROTHER” HOUSE, REALLY?
  7. Hayden – What do you doooooooooo? You’re like “Survivor: Nicaragua’s’ Fabio except without all of the entertaining injuries.
 8. Donny – Donny is the nicest guy in the house and WE LOVE HIM! I think everyone loves him but the HOH in power always wants to nominate him. They don’t want to get rid of him but they want to put him on the block as a pawn! I want to see Donny as HOH!
 8. Caleb – I’m not going to lie; it did my nerd heart good to see someone as good-looking and ripped as Caleb have such a horrible date. Welcome to my world, cowboy. That being said, it is a little messed up that Amber would do that to you. Don’t tease the poor guy.
 9. Caleb –  Caleb is at the bottom of the boys’ alliance and they always talk about getting him out. However, the boys also know he’s loyal and think that it may be to early to get him out and he’s so obsessed with Amber he’s not thinking about the game, he couldn’t care less. If they got rid of Amber they wouldn’t even have to do anything, Caleb wouldn’t know what to do with his life.
  9. Amber – Zach had the right idea about backdooring Amber, but it’s a bit too soon. If Amber truly believes there’s a conspiracy against her, she needs to start getting the stragglers together.
 10. Amber – Amber is in danger with these boys in power and in this “Big Brother” house the girls are dropping like flies. The boys love to try to get rid of Amber because she is not in their alliance and she has won a competition and for some reason they think she is a physical threat.
  10. Donny – Nobody will beat Donny if he gets to the end. That’s a fact. They should have sent him home a long time ago. (Although I hope they don’t. He’s adorable.)
 11. Victoria – Well…I think we all feel the same way about this one… SOME ONE PLEASE JUST GET HER OUT ALREADY! She won’t step up and try to make an alliance with any of the girls and she won’t at least play a strategic game. I mean really, let’s just have Team America vote her out at this point.
 11. Jocasta – Don’t be fooled by the tie that I got. I’m just, I’m just Jocasta from the block.
 12. Jocasta – Jocasta should be safe this week. Even on the block she shouldn’t be a target since she hasn’t done anything and makes people less mad then Victoria, Christine, and Amber.Side Note: At this point if one of the girls doesn’t step up and notice…HELLO…there is clearly a huge boys’ alliance and they are strong and in power then I may have to root for the girls to keep going home just for being horrible game players!
 12. Victoria – What do I even say about Victoria? She doesn’t do anything until she’s nominated. Then she gets mad. Is anyone close enough to her to save her with the POV? Doubtful. Could she win it herself? Maybe. But those are long odds.

 1. Cody – As HOH this week Cody is safest, however if he doesn’t use his HOH to his advantage it could really hurt his game in the future since we are seeing Cody start to come out of his shell and really play the game. People could start to get scared quickly!
  1. Cody – Cody’s having an uneventful run as HOH, which is probably the best kind of run to have. His two nominees have no pull in the house, so it’s doubtful that any of the heat will come back to haunt him. But the question remains; if Victoria or Brittany win POV, does he try to take out Caleb?
 2. Frankie – Frankie is safe because in this “Big Brother” house the HOH pairs don’t go after each other. Well go figure at this point in the game and in the next few weeks they may want to start to go after their HOH partner. Spice it up a little and make the BOTB count!   2. Amber – The physical threat proved her prowess by walking in L shapes and flipping tiles. She’s like the Ozzy Lusth of “Big Brother.”
 3. Amber – We are all confused how the boys view Amber as a bigger physical threat then Caleb, Hayden, or Zach… We note that she has saved herself every week with the Battle of the Block so good for her!
  3. Jocasta – What the what was going on during the Battle of the Block?! Was she speaking in tongues? Whatever it was, it didn’t look healthy. If she gets this worked up over a relaxing game of chess, imagine if she was playing something exciting like Scrabble.

 4. Jocasta – Jocasta didn’t make the best moves in the game of chess but she at least had to step up and play something. THAT’S WHY WE’RE OBSESSED WITH THIS TWIST!
  4. Frankie – Frankie’s teams keep dropping the Battle of the Block competitions, and I think that’s exactly how he likes it. Let the Calebs and Codys (Codies?) of the world deal with the backlash of sending someone to their doom.
 5. Derrick – Derrick is clearly BFF with Cody, he is in their Detonators alliance… (where do they think of these names?) and he isn’t in danger of the boys turning on him since he’s formed genuine friendships with them. The power hasn’t really shifted at all this season yet but once it does I think Derrick will have to play a better hand since he is feeling a bit too safe to be playing “Big Brother.”
  5. Derrick – Derrick’s backdoor elimination of Devin went off without a hitch. (Hey, look at me using terms like “Backdoor” like a real “Big Brother” expert!) Now he gets to sit back and let his Detonator buddies do some of the dirty work.
 6. Christine – Christine is safe because she’s the last one standing in the Detonators alliance. She’s totally the Brittney to their Brigade and I think she knows it at this point so she may be able to use this to her advantage to get her far. Right now she can’t win HOH because she has too many cards with too many groups of people in the house and is in almost every alliance!
  6. Christine – I love how she magically finds herself in all of the dominant alliances. She just seems trustworthy. Hopefully she can keep that illusion going until she can find a way to flip the game.
 7. Nicole – Their cute lil’ blossoming showmance isn’t putting anyone in the house off since they are targeting Brittney, Amber, Jocasta, and Victoria over these two.
  7. Zach – Zach’s solidly in the Detonator alliance, but he certainly has a bit of a loose cannon vibe about him. He and Cody are close enough that I think he’s super safe this week, but if I were a Detonator I’d be keeping an eye on him.
 8. Hayden – Yes, we’re confused why the boys in an ALLIANCE aren’t targeting one of the only boys NOT in the alliance???? Nobody seems to think of these two as threats so they must be playing a good game.
 8. Nicole – You and Hayden are completely aboreable. Zzz…
 9. Caleb – Caleb is still on Cody’s radar but Cody isn’t sure if it’s the right time to get him out…which is smart because Caleb is still working with them. The “Big Brother” Love Triangle may start to make waves in the house however, and Caleb may get really upset that Amber is locking herself in the room with Cody. (What a vixen! Hehe…)  Caleb and Cody are so going head to head we just all wonder when!
  9. Hayden – See Nicole.
 10. Zach – Zach is friends with Cody but has a big mouth and thinks he’s an evil genius. His best move would be to just sit back and let the Detonators explode and showmance with Frankie but Zach is acting like he’s bored and wants some action. Then win an HOH, sir.  But calm down, you’re playing “Big Brother”!
  10. Donny – If I’m in the house right now, Donny is my number one target. He’s just too likable. Give him too much time and he’ll be able to make something out of the non-Detonators. (Deto-no-tors?)
 11. Donny – Donny is down here because he’s not in the Detonators and he’s always mentioned as a BOTB player or as a replacement nom. I don’t think the house would vote Donny out, but you can only be a pawn so many times!  We don’t know what we would do if Donny went home. Would love to see Donny as HOH! He’s just so adorable!
 11. Caleb – Cody and Amber are going to hook up. They’re always cuddling up or touching each other. And yeah, you can say you’re over her, but nobody is buying it. If Victoria or Brittany manage to claim the POV medallion, Cody should send the “Beast Mode Cowboy” packing. It’s the best move for his game and his love life.
 12. Victoria – With bedgate and attitude, Victoria is rubbing some girls the wrong way. We actually didn’t know who she was until bedgate since she somehow has not been on the show at all for what feels like weeks. This can only mean that she’s not doing anything interesting. If she went I don’t think we would even notice?
 12. Victoria – OK, if I’m Cody, here’s what I’m thinking. I figure out which of the two nominees the Detonators want to vote for. Then, I go to the safe person and tell them they’re in danger, but I’m going to do what I can to keep them around. Victoria is harmless. She isn’t going to make any waves. That’s why I think Brittany is a goner.
 13. Brittany – WE LOVE HER but we also HATE that she told some of the boys she was over it. Recruit or not, you’re here to win $500k. I personally have had my ups and downs in “Big Brother,” but even when I said I was over it, I never was. And we are worried that she is actually over it.  We don’t know why everyone wants to target her but she’s become an easy target for the boys to go after and they try every week! We think she’s in HOT WATER this week if she doesn’t win veto. I imagine that “Big Brother” can’t be harder then raising three kids, Britt. So, put your bun up, get into fierce mode, and be in it to win it!
 13. Brittany – You can only be on the block so many times before you get a one-on-one interview with Julie Chen. It probably doesn’t help when you insult he sitting HOH.
