The Rules: Each week our three combatants will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the three players will earn. For example, if Kelley is voted out this week, Max and Gordon will each receive one point and Jenn will receive two points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the “Survivor: Second Chance” Power Rankings Challenge Champion.

Last Week: Jenn, Max, and Gordon all had Joey Amazing in spot eight. The current score is Team Jenn 124, Team Max 121, and Team Gordon 115.

Important Note: These rankings are not based on who is most likely to win the entire season. Players tend to rank the players based on their safety in the next episode.

Jenn’s Score = 124

 1. Jeremy: At this point they should just give Jeremy the money. Also “it’s a boy” made the entire country tear up. I also love Val as much as I love Jeremy. And I thought he would be challenge threat #1 after Joe left but he’s not! It’s Keith! And I love that.
  1. Kelley: As soon as I saw the first flashes of his traffic-cone orange Ephrata shirt through the Cambodian brush I was certain that Kelley was toast. The curmudgeonly Dale Wentworth has a penchant for making waves around camp. My initial thought was that we were about to see Dale rip into Kimmi for undercooking the rice or start an argument with Spencer about why Trump is more qualified for the presidency than Jeb Bush. And yet somehow Dale’s visit went off without a hitch. If Kelley can survive a family visit from @farmguy69 she can survive anything.  1. Kelley: She’s got an idol and she’s making the right moves at the right time. Kelley is killing it. My only concern for her is; does the jury appreciate what she’s done? They should, but has she been playing it too close to the vest? Too sneaky, sneaky?
  2. Kelley: She’s still one of my favorites. Finally got rid of Joe, is in a great position with her alliance, and will probably make it to the end because SHE ALSO HAS AN IDOL STILL.
  2. Spencer: Spencer has created for himself a number of potential paths to the final three. He’s at the point where he needs to be giving serious thought to who will be sitting next to him. I worry, though, that with all of those scenarios to run the old gamebot Spencer could re-emerge, and that he could lose his grasp on the social game he has worked so hard to build. Remember how great Mitt Romney was during the primary, and how awful he was during the election? Spencer, don’t be a Romney.
 2. Jeremy: Ya got me last week, Jeremy. Waterworks in the Holmes household the second Val said, “It’s a boy.” Now, back to the game. You’re actually in amazing shape for someone who’s had some rough votes. You’ve got an idol in your pocket and nobody is viewing you as a challenge threat. But, Ciera pointed out that nobody can beat you at the end. They’re coming for you, you have to figure out when.
  3. Keith: I love that Big D made an appearance this episode. She is just as great as Keith is, trust me I’ve met her. We all went to the Dallas aquarium once, and it was a blast. Anyway. There’s no way anyone is getting rid of Keith soon, so towards the top he will remain. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to the final 4 or 3.
  3. Abi-Maria: Abi likes dark-haired gamer bros with severe ADHD. You like curly-haired mold clowns. That doesn’t give you the right to post something horrible on her Instagram. Apparently after last week’s episode some viewers felt compelled to take time out from mistaking “Onion” articles for real news stories to disparage and/or threaten Abi and Kelley on social media. The “Survivor” community stands united against this disgusting behavior. Don’t do it. And certainly don’t tolerate it.  3. Tasha: Nobody needs an all-female alliance more than Tasha. In fact, I’d wager that the only people she could beat at the end are Abi and Kimmi. And that’s a big “if.” A lot of the jurors are fond of Kimmi.
  4. Spencer: The “Survivor” gods love Spencer. So much airtime, so much positive edit about him becoming a being with feelings, so much love for his girlfriend.
  4. Tasha: Tasha handled the women’s alliance situation with all of the grace that Dan Foley exhibited when he explained how to talk to the ladies. Moments like that one suggest that Tasha doesn’t have the finesse to win this game.
 4. Abi-Maria: Abi’s going to the final three, isn’t she? Is there a downside for anyone to make that move? The only person on that island who would possibly vote for her is her mother. And I’m assuming she was sent home before final Tribal.
 5. Tasha: Tasha has a final-3 deal going, however she totally turned on her female alliance! She had the numbers with that alliance. Why would she do that? What happens when Jeremy tells the girls that Tasha ratted them out? WHAT HAPPENS?
   5. Jeremy: Option 1: Jeremy wins immunity and he, Tasha, Spencer, and Kimmi vote out Keith. Option 2: Jeremy loses immunity and idols out Keith. Either way, I think Keith is getting the big d this week.  5. Kimmi: An all-female alliance worked in Micronesia and it could absolutely work here. That is, if Tasha hadn’t run off and told her boys.
 6. Abi-Maria: Abi made it this far into the game, just like last time, and I am actually shocked after the start of this game that she has. But it seems like she’s had a bit of a turn around. However her alliance member just ratted her and the other girls out, so I’m thinking it’s Abi or Kimmi next, because…damnit, Tasha. Why don’t all girl alliances ever pan out (minus the black widows and also just me and Hali who did nothing really)?! I would love to see an all female final 8 or something. That’s the “Survivor” season I want to see. And that way there are no “male and female” immunity necklaces.
   6. Kimmi: In like Caryn, out like Monica? Suddenly Kimmi wants to do all the girls? I don’t buy it. Kimmi’s reaction to seeing her dad told me everything I need to know about her next move. She’s sticking with her game dad, Jeremy.  6. Keith: You went toe-to-toe with the Golden Boy week after week and now he’s gone! And the reward for your amazing feat is…you’re the biggest challenge threat in the game. Whoops. The only thing working for you is that nobody is worried about you pulling any clever strategies out of your hat.
 7. Kimmi: Ditto to above. I wrote a bunch there and then realized I was writing it for both of them, so whatever. Also can I have Abi and Kimmi both tied for last? Gordon?
  7. Keith: When Keith talked about killing the Golden Boy I don’t think he had last week’s challenge in mind. I also don’t think he had given much thought to what Joe’s elimination would mean for his game. Sure, Keith now stands a much greater chance of winning immunity challenges. But as soon as doesn’t win he’s going to realize that the threat of Joe making an immunity run was all that was keeping him in the game.  7. Spencer: I really liked “Survivor’s” tie-in with “The Wiz Live!” last week where they gave Spencer a heart. His moment with his girlfriend was adorable. But, his courage in challenges and his strategic brains make him a threat. It could cause them to send him home.

Benjamin “Coach” Wade – (“Survivor: Tocantins,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Survivor: South Pacific”):  You can’t have a  Hall without one of the most entertaining players in history! I learned a lot from the Dragon Slayer before I played season 19! Let’s get him in!

Phillip Sheppard – (“Survivor: Redemption Island” and “Survivor: Caramoan”): No matter how you feel about this man…every time he has played he has been in control and everyone was following his lead! You can’t talk about “Survivor” without talking about Phillip!

James Clement – (“Survivor: China,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains): He is a Greek god and plays like one! No one I mean NO ONE can physically challenge him head to head! He was a two-time fan favorite for a reason! It’s time James is in!

Tyson Apostol – (“Survivor: Tocantins,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Survivor: Blood vs. Water”): Say what you will about this “Survivor” goofball, but Tyson belongs in the Hall of Fame. When I played with him on “Heroes vs Villains,” he made a hasty and foolish mistake that cost him the game. On his third time around, Tyson had clearly learned from his former blunders. Playing with his girlfriend Rachel on “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” brought out never-before-seen facets of his personality. Tyson can be serious? Tyson loves someone so much that he cries for her and commits to do whatever it takes to win, not for himself, but for Rachel? I love Tyson for his wacky sense of humor and for the great depth he showed us in his winning season of “Survivor.” And, now he’s a dad! Can you believe that?

Eliza Orlins – (“Survivor: Vanuatu” and “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites”): Eliza is the force of nature who coined the infamous phrase “It’s just a (expletive deleted) stick!” Though not yet a “Survivor” winner, this woman is a ferocious competitor and a larger-than-life jury member. *Cue the eye-roll* *Cut to gaping jaw* For those reasons, she deserves Hall of Fame recognition. Each time Eliza graces our screens for a season of “Survivor,” her presence is felt…intensely. What she lacks in social grace, she makes up for in grit and determination. She’s tough as nails and will fight to the end. Then, when her torch does get snuffed, and she takes her place in the jury, you know she’s going to use her power and influence to ensure the best player wins.

Benjamin “Coach” Wade (aka The Dragon Slayer) – (“Survivor: Tocantins,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Survivor: South Pacific”):  You know this whole “Survivor” yoga craze? Well, Coach may not have started it all, but he sure did make it cool. This man rocked the “Survivor” world with his feathers, coachi and grown man tears — how could we not fall in love? His strategic game in “Heroes vs. Villains” was tragically flawed; it’s never good to go after me from day one. But, he rose to the occasion his third time around, becoming a father figure to his flock and securing a spot in the final three. Sadly, Coach missed out on winning the game, but he still wins at life.

John Kirhoffer’s 2015 Hall of Fame Ballot

Hello Friends,

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend with loved ones. It is a wonderful time of year to give thanks for those people and things we love and appreciate…like being asked who among the hundreds of notable characters on our amazing TV show should be nominated for the “Survivor” Hall of Fame.

Here you go…

Rudy Boesch – (“Survivor: Borneo” and “Survivor: All-Stars”): How have 15 years gone by and Rudy is not in the “Survivor” Hall of Fame? He stole the hearts of all of America with his sincere, honest approach to our game with a sense of integrity yet to be rivaled. Rudy should have a bronze statue, of him standing on a mountain-top holding a torch high in the air, at the entrance of our imaginary hall. Rudy is a certified American Hero, being in the “Survivor” Hall of Fame may be a small, insignificant, feather in the cap of his lifetime achievements, but having Rudy in our little television Hall of Fame would be such an honor…FOR US!!!

Benjamin “Coach” Wade – (“Survivor: Tocantins,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Survivor: South Pacific”):  Seriously?! I’m petitioning for Coach again this year? JT may have won “Survivor: Tocantins,” but Coach stole the show! I am biased because I dig Coach. I have always seen the genuine man of integrity under the often self-aggrandizing veneer of the “Dragon Slayer.” And we all know that spending too much time out in the elements, unprotected will wear away that veneer and show the true core. In my eyes Coach had a great human development over his three seasons, a huge loving personality, and gave us a never ending supply of great entertainment.

Tyson Apostol – (“Survivor: Tocantins,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Survivor: Blood vs. Water”): Tyson is such an iconic “Survivor” character. Few scenes containing Tyson, in his three seasons, were without belly laughs or a sense of awe. His genuine charisma cushioned a sharp edged wit and sarcasm, which could cut deep, and made for beautiful contrast with Coach’s compulsion to impress (and we already know I love Coach Ben Wade).  He grew as a man and as a player each subsequent season until he eventually won it all…and then married his lovely girlfriend whom he competed against!

‘Survivor’ Castaway Joe: ‘The Fans Didn’t Vote Me Back to Not Compete’

Anyone who’s followed XFINITY’s “Survivor” coverage over the years is sure of one thing; I’m terrible at predictions. From day one when I picked Michelle Chase to win “Survivor: Gabon,” it’s been a disaster.

So, why was I so confident that Bayon would win the first immunity challenge? Because I knew it’d come down to the gate and I knew Joe Anglim would destroy it.

He did, and for once I was right.

Unfortunately, it also confirmed everyone’s suspicions that Joe would be this season’s dominant challenge force.

I spoke with “Joey Amazing” the day after his elimination and had a chance to ask him about his scary challenge mishap, his on-again, off-again alliance with Kelley, and Abi’s hair-raising comments…

Gordon Holmes: Your dad is awesome, your mom is delightful, your sisters are super-talented singers. Who do I talk to about being adopted by the Anglim family?
Joe Anglim: (Laughs) You’re going to have to take that up with Mom. She’s adopted a lot of people already, so I’m sure you’re going to have no trouble getting into the club.
Holmes: Sweet!  I’ll get that application ready.
Anglim: And a background check. We’ll do it right.

Holmes: So, last night you scared the (expletive deleted) out of me.
Anglim: (Laughs)
Holmes: You just passed right out in the middle of that challenge. Did you warn your parents about what they were about to see?
Anglim: I told them, “You’re going to have to wait and see.” That’s usually the response I give them. Or, that I forgot. I’ll say, “I don’t remember, you’re going to have to watch tonight.” I had about 25 people, family, friends over and I think I had all of them in tears. A couple of them were crying pretty hard. It’s more fun that way, not telling anyone and then almost killing my grandma.
Holmes: You’re a monster. Was this some kind of ploy so you wouldn’t have to get up to get snacks?
Anglim: (Laughs) No, I’m refilling the wine glasses and asking anyone if they need anything because I’m in control of the remote. So, I get the end-all, say-all. I get to run the ship as I see fit.

Holmes: What do you remember from that moment?
Anglim: I remember looking up at the sun and it’s just beating down. It was directly above the idol. I remember starting to lose sensation in my legs and my hands. This cold/hot sweat creeping up my back. I’m blinking, and then I’m seeing black. I’m blinking but I’m not seeing anything. I yelled to Jeff, I knew I was going pretty quick. I said, “Can we go to one hand?” I said, “Keith, do you want to go to one hand or add another length or something like that?” And, Keith was good with that. Jeff’s grabbing a couple of the extra lengths of pole to hand to us and I just remember going black. I woke up on my back and Doctor Joe was giving me some oral glucose. Jeff was holding my hand and they had umbrellas to get me out of the sun. It was so unbearably hot. It was so hot.
Holmes: I was shaky after our press challenge and Doctor Joe had me eat a glucose square. I was wondering if it was against the rules of the show.
Anglim: It was just for blood sugar. They give you a quick squeeze. It dissolves quickly into your blood. But, the night prior to that I got a severe cold. I had a high fever. I was around the fire all night with the chills. I couldn’t hold anything down. I was running to the bathroom every couple of hours. I woke up feeling like crap, being dehydrated. I was asking for trouble going into that challenge.

Holmes: Mike Holloway encouraged you to hold back in challenges. You obviously took the opposite approach. Was that just a case of, everybody knows, so why bother?
Anglim: I really wanted to go into this season and be able to hold true to that. I need to hold back, but it’s not in my nature. At that point in the beginning of the game I said, “When we get to the individual portion of the game, let’s keep our alliance strong.” This was me talking to Jeremy, Savage, and Tash. “I’ll win the immunities and we can pick off who we want to pick off. We won’t have to worry about them winning immunity.” I really embraced my challenge ability more than try to hide it. Everybody knows. They all saw my season. I might as well accept it and not try to hide it. And more than that, I want to play! It’s like Keith said, “I wanna compete!” I want to give the fans something awesome. The fans didn’t vote me back to not compete. It’s tricky.

Holmes: Does it make it better or worse that the loss that took you out of the game was kind of out of your hands?
Anglim: Phhphphpphpphphpph…
Holmes: That’s the perfect answer.
Anglim: (Laughs) I’m still working through it. It’s still a little of a tough subject to swallow. I’ve come to terms with it. It wasn’t meant to be. That was my lesson. I was meant to be humbled. I thought I was tougher. Mentally I thought I could handle anything. Being sick and being taken out of that game, it broke me. I thought I was invincible. If I had not been taken out physically by my own weakness and I would’ve just lost to Keith? I think that’d be easier to accept.

Holmes: I wish they’d gone into the relationship with you and Wentworth a little more. Take me back to Ta Keo and lead me through last night’s vote.
Anglim: When I was on Ta Keo, I noticed that Kelley didn’t have anyone that she connected with on her previous Ta Keo tribe. I reached out to her and said, “I was a big threat on my season, I had nobody going into the merge. Let’s look out for each other. I’ve got your back 100% if you’ve got mine.” Me and her locked it in. I had Keith, she had a good relationship with Kass and Ciera. I was close with Kass and was building a relationship with Ciera. That was a pretty solid five. I felt pretty comfortable with that. But, when we hit the merge, Kass and Ciera started playing too hard and it was easy for the group-think to point the finger at them. And Kelley was obviously associated with them, so I retracted with Keith. We joined back with the Bayon majority. The girls were on the outs.  I still was connected with  them though. I’d play both sides. I needed to stay with the majority for a couple of votes. And when the time is right we’ll take out who we need to take out. I really did want to  keep Kelley in the game.
Holmes: And when she played her idol?
Anglim: I told her, “If you have an idol, you need to play it.” Of course, not thinking she had one. And I didn’t think the next person they’d vote for would be one of my biggest allies in the game. There are a lot of things like that that I wish I could go back and change. But, once I didn’t have Kelley’s back I think she put up that wall and it became a fake façade of her telling me what I wanted to hear and vice versa.

Holmes: If you could’ve scripted out the end to this thing, who would’ve been your final three?
Anglim: I would’ve liked to have picked off one of the girls. I would’ve gotten Abi and then Jeremy or even Tash. Maybe keep Jeremy around longer. Then Kelley. Then Kimmi… You know, for me, I thought if I could get to the end I could make a case against anybody.

Holmes: Alright, word association time. Let’s start with Monica.
Anglim: Damn, girl.
Holmes: Kimmi?
Anglim: Motherly love.
Holmes: Stephen?
Anglim: Ohhh….Steeephen! Put it like that, “Ohhh…Steeephen.”
Holmes: Savage?
Anglim: Inspiring.
Holmes: Terry?
Anglim: Compassion.
Holmes: Spencer?
Anglim: Witty.
Holmes: Tasha?
Anglim: Crazy.
Holmes: Kass?
Anglim: Ridiculous.
Holmes: Ciera?
Anglim:  Entertaining.
Holmes: Wentworth?
Anglim: Snarky.
Holmes: Wiglesworth?
Anglim: Good humor.
Holmes: Keith?
Anglim: Priceless.
Holmes: Jeremy?
Anglim: Proud.
Holmes: Let’s finish with Abi-Maria.
Anglim: My favorite…uh…how about…dramatic.

Holmes: What the heck, man. As a future Anglim, I’m offended by what she said about your hair.
Anglim: What are you going to do? (Laughs) Eventually I’m probably going to cut if off and donate it to charity. But, we’re going to have to do it right. Maybe I’ll let Abi cut it.
Holmes: How short are we talking?
Anglim: It depends. If I get into the fire academy I’ll probably have to cut it pretty short.
Holmes:  I hear hearts across the county breaking as we’re having this conversation.
Anglim: (Laughs) I’m really hoping for that Herbal Essence commercial deal.

The “Survivor” Hall of Fame is proud to have 2013 inductee (and the first person to ever have a “Survivor”  Hall of Fame championship belt) Jonny Fairplay as a member of the Executive Voting Committee.

As a member of this exclusive committee, Jonny (along with Host Jeff Probst and other “Survivor” luminaries) has accepted an awesome responsibility. The committee’s votes will make up 50% of the final tally for entry into the prestigious Class of 2015. The other 50% will come from “Survivor” fans like you.

Jonny Fairplay’s 2015 Hall of Fame Ballot

Rupert Boneham – (“Survivor: Pearl Islands,” “Survivor: All-Stars,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Survivor: Blood vs. Water”): He’s not the smartest player, not even by a long shot, but he plays with his heart and that went a long way into making Rupert one of the most memorable players in the history of the game. I’ve always said if there were a “Survivor” Mount Rushmore, I would put Rupert’s ugly face on it.

Jerri Manthey – (“Survivor – The Australian Outback,” “Survivor: All-Stars,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”):  She’s one of the original bitches in the entire genre of reality television and made herself, not by her own doing (according to her), one of the first true villains in the game of “Survivor.” Plus I’ve always thought she was hot!

Lex van den Berghe – (“Survivor: Africa” and “Survivor: All-Stars”): I didn’t even like “Survivor” until I saw Lex and “Survivor: Africa.” Winner of more challenges than anyone on his initial season. Winning over Big Tom, a guy that normally wouldn’t even walk on the same side of the street as someone that looked like Lex. And being a true personality in the game, Lex gets my vote.

Last Week: Kelley found de idol, Joe was devoted, and Stephen and Ciera joined de jury.

39 Days, 20 People, 1 “Survivor” Blog…

Let’s take a look at the tribe as it currently stands…

The Orkun Tribe (wearing orange)
Abi – Philippines
Jeremy – San Juan del Sur
Joe – Worlds Apart
Keith – San Juan del Sur
Kelley W. – San Juan del Sur
Kimmi – The Australian Outback
Spencer – Cagayan
Tasha – Cagayan

Before we get too far into this…

Oh man…family visit night…keep it together, Gordon.

Things start off the morning after Tribal where Jeremy and Spencer are enjoying a delightful chat over coffee. Spencer assures Jeremy that they’re still tight, but Jeremy isn’t so sure.

At camp, Kimmi wants to target Joe if he loses immunity. WHY DIDN’T ANYONE ELSE THINK OF THAT?! Kimmi also pitches an all-lady alliance to Kelley and Tasha. They both seem into the idea.

Kimmi then tells us that it’s time to make her move. Oof…never good when someone who hasn’t said much starts saying a lot. Don’t get Padilla’d.

Before we get to the reward challenge, Probst teases them about the loved-one visit. He pretends like the family members aren’t there, but they totally are. Is this “American Idol?”

Val shows up for Jeremy and it…is…waterworks. She simply says “It’s a boy” and I lose it.

Tasha’s cousin is next. They hug it out and are sooper adorable.

Then we get to meet Spencer’s girlfriend and…he tells her he loves her! He wants to know what love is, he wants her to show him!

Abi’s mom hits the beach, and Abi promptly votes her out. Just kidding, they share a nice hug.

From there Keith is greeted by his wife. Equally adorable!

Then it’s Dale Wentworth! Who expected to see him back before Baylor?

Joe’s dad comes out and fulfills Joe’s “Worlds Apart” wish to make the family visit.

Finally, Kimmi’s dad made the long trip to Cambodia. They cry and hug while I just cry.

Reward Challenge Time: The players will collect five bags of puzzle pieces while going through an obstacle course. First person to complete the word puzzle gets a barbecue at camp with their loved one.

We start off and Kimmi jumps out to a lead. However, Keith is the first one to get to the end with all of his bags.

He’s followed by Jeremy, Kelley, and then Joe.

Everyone eventually makes it except for Kimmi. Poor Kimmi.

Kelley scores the win by spelling “Nourishment.”

Kelley is allowed to pick three people to join her. She goes with Keith, Abi, and Kimmi.

Wow, Kimmi loses it. I might lose it too.

Kelley’s allowed to pick one more and she goes with Joe.

Back at camp, there are like 40 people on the beach with all of the loved ones. It’s like spring break down the shore.

Quick Aside: I hate myself for that joke.

Joe shows his dad the cool tribe flag he painted. Then his dad confesses that Joe is his best friend. STOP! STOP IT! I NEED TISSUES!

Jeremy and Spencer aren’t surprised with who Kelley picked to join in the reward. Spencer isn’t used to all of these emotions he’s feeling. Does…not…compute.

Spencer assures Tasha and Jeremy that the Stephen thing wasn’t personal. They agree to take each other to the final three. Tasha, however, is still considering the all-female alliance.

The newly minted trio decides to target Joe next. HOW DARE YOU VOTE OUT JOE’S DAD’S BEST FRIEND?!

Immunity Challenge Time: The players will balance a statue on top of a pole. As time goes on, they’ll add to the pole to make it longer. The last man and woman with their statue in the air wins immunity.

Probst says that with two immunity necklaces up for grabs it increases everyone’s odds of winning. Well, not the non-Joe males.

We start off and it’s a lot of standin’ and pole holdin’.

(Get your mind out of the gutter.)

Kimmi is the first person out. She’s followed by Abi. It’s quickly down to Kelley and Tasha for female immunity.

Tasha eventually drops out. Kelley wins immunity. Good night for her.

Then we lose Spencer and Jeremy in short order. It’s down to Keith and Joe for bro immunity.

The two battle it out until the one-hour, twenty-minute mark when Joe just kind of collapses.  Medical is called in and everyone is shocked.

And…we cut to a commercial! Gah! Be OK, Joe!

We come back and Joe is conscious. He says his legs went numb. Doctor Joe says that his blood sugar dropped to a dangerous level, but he won’t have to be pulled from the game.

Fun Fact: Doctor Joe gave me a weird sugar square when I was woozy after the press immunity challenge in Cambodia.

Another Fun Fact: We totally won that press challenge.

Back at Orkun Beach, everyone is happy to have Joe back in one piece. Abi especially because she’s very excited to vote him out.

Joe and Jeremy go out for a chat. Joe pitches voting out Abi, saying she’s dangerous because everyone wants to go to the end with her. Huh…everyone wants to go to the end with her, but that doesn’t make her dangerous. She won’t get jury votes.

Later, Tasha admits to Jeremy and Spencer that there are rumors of an all-girl alliance. As you’d imagine, they are not cool with this.

Spencer and Jeremy meet later and debate pulling Tasha, Joe, and Keith over to go after the other women.

That night at Tribal Council, Stephen’s looking psyched to be a part of the jury. Over/under on the number of Shakespeare references he makes in his jury speech?

Kelley thinks Joe is dangerous because he’s willing to compete until he passes out.

Jeremy believes the voting bloc thing is cool, but it’s time for an alliance.

Joe knows he’s on the chopping block, so does Abi.

Spencer says it doesn’t matter if you can beat someone at the end, if they won’t help you get to the end.

Joe hopes everyone sticks to the plan. A Keith reference?

Voting Time: Abi votes for Joe and tells him to get a haircut because he looks like a clown, Joe votes for Abi, and the rest of the votes are secret.

Probst asks for idols…and nobody plays one.

We’ve got one vote for Joe, one vote for Abi, one vote for Tasha, two votes for Joe, and the thirteenth person eliminated from “Survivor: Second Chance” and the sixth member of the jury is…Joe.

Verdict: Kudos to the “Survivor” editing crew for making the Joe vote look a little surprising. Seriously, they had to get rid of him. Just glad he went out on his feet instead of his back.

Who’s Going to Win? Woody Boyd sang it best, “Kelley, Kelley, Kelley, Kelley, Kelley, Kelley.”

Power Rankings Results: Jenn, Max, and I all had Joey Amazing in spot eight. The current score is Team Jenn 124, Team Max 121, and Team Gordon 115.

Tyson Apostol – (“Survivor: Tocantins,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Survivor: Blood vs. Water”): Tyson grew as a player each time he played, refining his game based on the mistakes he made.  He ultimately won by taking all of his liabilities and turning them into assets.  That’s the mark of a great player.

Stephenie LaGrossa – (“Survivor: Palau,” “Survivor: Guatemala,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”):  Still one of the most physically dominating and emotionally motivated women to ever play “Survivor.”  Even a separated shoulder didn’t slow her down.  She understood that in order to do well in “Survivor” you must truly know yourself and what you are willing to do to get to the end.  She’s as good as they come. I’m surprised it’s taken this long for her induction.

Rudy Boesch – (“Survivor: Borneo” and “Survivor: All-Stars”): If you need a reason to induct Rudy Boesch into the “Survivor” Hall of Fame you are not a true fan.  He’s a legend.

The Rules: Each week our three combatants will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the three players will earn. For example, if Keith is voted out this week, Max and Jenn will each receive three points and Gordon will receive six points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the “Survivor: Second Chance” Power Rankings Challenge Champion.

Last Week: Jenn and Gordon had Ciera in spot seven. Max’s Blue Collar buddies had her in the first spot. Max and Jenn had Fishbach in spot nine. Gordon had him in spot eight. So, the current score is Team Jenn 116, Team Max 113, and Team Gordon 107.

Important Note: These rankings are not based on who is most likely to win the entire season. Players tend to rank the players based on their safety in the next episode.

Jenn’s Score = 116

 1. Jeremy: Dude played one of his idols for not him, which I think was an incredibly dumb move. Never, ever play your idol for others unless your name rhymes with a cheese.  However, he still has an idol, everyone still loves him and he still has the numbers. He hasn’t even won a challenge but it’s like he cannot lose.
  1. Kelley: Things move fast in “Survivor: Second Chance.” One week you’re on the bottom, the next you’re casting spells that annihilate the best-laid plans of nebbish Wizards and guys who played college football. It’s not the magical idol in her pocket that makes Kelley powerful – it’s the fact that she’s summarily eliminated the opposing alliance’s figurehead and chief strategist while simultaneously rallying floaters like Abi and Keith to her side.  1. Kelley: Stephen’s gone and Joe got a couple of votes. Does Joe think both of those votes came from Stephen? Probably not. So, right now Joe probably trusts Kelley and Spencer the most. So, between her newly found alliance strength and her newly found idol, Kelley is like the original NES – she’s playing with power.
  2. Kelley: Like I’ve said before, I like this chick. She’s sneaky, manipulative, and also has an idol, just like Jeremy. However, I don’t think she’s in AS good of a position as Jeremy is, so that’s the only reason she’s #2 and not #1.
  2. Spencer: Spencer’s two biggest rivals in the game were Stephen and Joe. Last week he eliminated one and saved the other. I’m calling it right now: this week he takes a page from Tony’s book and circles back for Joe. Side note: wouldn’t it be amazing it Tony wrote a book?
 2. Jeremy: You voted for your main meat shield and your brain shield was the one sent packing. If you didn’t have that spare idol you’d be way lower on this list.
  3. Keith: Keith is still hands down my favorite.
  3. Keith: Henh henh henh henh henh henh henh henh.  3. Kimmi: Oh really, “Survivor” editors? Stephen and Kimmi are best friends? Thanks for the heads up. Those little surprises are making ranking this season a nightmare. Anywho, there are bigger fish to fry at this point.
  4. Abi-Maria: I haven’t seen much from her strategy-wise lately, but I’ve loved her comments about the other players. I don’t think she’s next, but I don’t think she’s long for the game.
  4. Abi-Maria: I keep thinking that at some point everyone is going to reach the end of their ropes and decide that they can’t stand to play another day with Abi. Wouldn’t it make everyone’s life easier to just get rid or her? Think about it: everyone sticks around for another round and doesn’t have to worry about being called “Poopy Pants” or “Debbie Downer” or being told to “Get over it!” Abi has become an integral part of Kelley’s game. That’s good for Abi, but is it good for Kelley?
 4. Abi-Maria: Stephen claims his pants were completely poop free. But, that’s exactly what someone with poopy pants would say.
 5. Spencer: I loved his betrayal against his fellow “Survivor” nerd. However, I think it was dumb to not vote out Joe the second you got the chance. I mean, at this point Joe cannot win the game because there’s just, zero strategy there, but still. Get rid of him so MAYBE other people will have a chance to win stuff.
   5. Tasha: Tasha hasn’t been on the right side of a vote since Kass’s tribal council. She needs to course correct ASAP if she’s going to have any hope of placing higher than fifth.  5. Spencer: Lookit Spencer playing the floater role to a tee once again. He’s voted against Kelley, now he’s voting with her. He’s lining up a great speech for the final Tribal, but who’s going to take him? Jeremy and Tasha won’t trust him, and Kelley and Abi won’t want to face him.
 6. Tasha: Mark my words, Tasha will be taken to the end because literally everyone can beat her at this point.
   6. Kimmi: Kimmi lost more than the numbers in that last vote – she also lost her Island Husband. Kimmi is definitely exposed. Fortunately for her there are two much bigger targets who still need to be taken care of before she is in real danger.  6. Keith: Who’s hand are we seeing wearing that pulse thingamabobber in this week’s preview? Is it Keith’s? Please be OK, Keith.
 7. KimmiThe “Survivor” gods will never allow her in an episode for more than ten seconds. One day I hope to understand why, but for now… well.. I got nothing.
  7. Jeremy: With Stephen gone what’s to stop the remaining castaways from ganging up on JC? Jeremy’s going to need to win – or play Val’s second hidden immunity idol – to make it past this round. If he does play idol number two he’ll be a sitting duck at the next TC.  7. Tasha: Kimmi, Tasha, and Jeremy all voted with Stephen last week. Of that trio, one has an idol, one’s of them isn’t a challenge threat, and one of them is. I think that challenge threat is in trouble.
 8. Joe: How did he survive that vote? Oh yeah, someone was dumb. Regardless, I still think if Spencer doesn’t do a completely dumb move (in my opinion, because Stephen was just dead in the water to me at that point. He was crying for Christ’s sake.) Joe will be gone next.
 8. Joe: Ever since the first challenge in “Worlds Apart” I’ve been telling anyone who would listen that the only solution to the Joe Problem is to vote him out the first chance you get. And yet somehow the Golden Boy managed to survive that last tribal without a necklace and with a voting advantage aimed at his manbun. Did Joe’s social game save him, or was he spared simply to get rid of the real threat, an advantage-wielding Know It All? Something tells me that Spencer is coming for him next…
 8. Joe: I’ve got Stephen saying you’ve got crazy good strategy and Ciera saying the opposite. The thing is, you’re such a physical threat, it probably doesn’t matter who’s right. You’re never safe.

‘Survivor’ Castaway Ciera: ‘Jeremy Has Too Many Little Minions Protecting Him’

Some people are physical threats, some people are strategic threats, some people are social threats. However, the reason most people gave for being afraid of Ciera Eastin during  pre-game interviews was because she voted out her own mother.

There has to be more than that to it, right?

I spoke with the notorious mother booter in the days following the end of her second chance and asked her why she’s so dangerous, why she never targeted Jeremy, and what the deal was with the mysterious pre-game call she got from Hayden…

Gordon Holmes: Let’s start off with the early days of Bayon. You’ve got the bros teaming up together and you end up with Kass. What were the first few rounds like for you out there?
Ciera Eastin: Everything was pretty good because we were winning. I never really saw where people’s loyalties really were. I thought I did pretty well, I thought I’d be more targeted early on. But, we’ll never know because we never lost. I thought I had good things going on. I had a relationship with Tasha in those early days. I was talking to Kass. Kass and Tasha had talked and mended and wanted to work together. And, they didn’t show this, but me and Andrew Savage really liked each other. We talked about working together. I felt pretty good about it.
Holmes: Why did you think you were going to be an early target?
Eastin: Obviously my first season I was a little bit of a wild card or a crazy person.
Holmes: A crazy wild card person.
Eastin: (Laughs) I didn’t know if people were going to hold that against me. And in pre-game there was a lot of talk of pre-game alliances. Not one person reached out to me. It made me extremely nervous, like people didn’t want to work with me. What the heck is going on? But, I didn’t have a conversation with one person.

Holmes: When I was at Bayon beach on day two, you, Stephen, and Kass were chatting and I overheard you saying something about Hayden calling you and warning you not to trust Vytas. What was that all about?
Eastin: And Monica. The advice Hayden gave me were those two people. With Vytas, I kind of already knew that going in because me and Vytas are good friends, but he had something to prove, I think. He and my mom had that incident where my mom helped Tina with the puzzle. And he got all mad. I think he wanted payback. So, I knew he wanted to vote me out and didn’t want to work with me even though he would’ve acted like it. I knew I wasn’t going to work with him. I had to convince people that I wasn’t going to work with Vytas.
Holmes: Why did Hayden warn you about Monica?
Eastin: Hayden lives down there, the California life. And I don’t know if he’d heard something personally or her pre-game alliance or what. It was a phone conversation we had in my hotel room three seconds before they took my phone away. So, I really didn’t get to get into it a whole lot. He also told me that Jeremy and Terry were people I could trust.
Holmes: Was he going off of instinct or things he had heard?
Eastin: I know he had met and was friends with Jeremy  and Terry. He said he talked to them and they were good stand-up guys and they were loyal. And then, with Monica I know he said to steer clear of her because she’s a wild card and she has something to prove.

Holmes: At the one reward you said if anyone goes to the end with Jeremy, they’re gonna lose. Why wasn’t Jeremy targeted?
Eastin: The conversations I had…Tasha was involved in those conversations. And Tasha is extremely close with Jeremy. I knew if I said that the thought would go through her head. At least, she’d know if she got to the end with Jeremy, that I wouldn’t vote for her. But also, I didn’t want to throw Jeremy’s name out because I knew she would tell him. I knew she wanted Joe gone. She was very vocal about that. So, I knew it would make her happy that I was on board with that. I knew there was no way she’d go against Jeremy. But, I’d tell other people, “Hey, I want to get Jeremy out.”
Holmes: Was there ever any movement on that front?
Eastin: No way. When I was out there, people were set up around him to protect him. When I would tell Joe, he’d tell Jeremy. Jeremy has too many little minions protecting him.

Holmes: Did you know they were calling you “The Witches Coven” out there?
Eastin: No! I had no clue until I watched the episode. It’s pretty funny.
Holmes: I’m sure they meant that in the nicest way. You ended up partnered with Abi who can be…challenging…for people to handle. What was your experience like?
Eastin: Abi is extremely loyal and a little bit of a liability to have. But, as long as you’re on Abi’s good side you’re fine. If you cater to Abi, she’s fine and will be loyal to you. But if you do something Abi doesn’t like, you’ll have to do major damage control. She does go a little berserk…even if you do the smallest thing. Like one time I had a conversation that did not involve her. It didn’t even involve gameplay, I think it was about my family, and she thought I was going against her. She flat out called me out on it in front of a whole group of people. I had to be like, “Oh Abi, we were talking about our kids. That’s it.”

Holmes: My wife is not a “Survivor” fan, but she’ll occasionally ask what’s going on. When people were targeting you, I had a tough time explaining what exactly it is that makes you so dangerous. How would you describe it?
Eastin: I guess I would say that I am likable. Stephen said it very well when he said I have an innocent way about me. Especially out there I try to be a little bit more naïve. I act like I don’t know what’s going on when really I do. I think I’m a little underestimated. And I didn’t think I’d have that in my favor in this season because everybody got to see my first season. But, because we were winning early on, I got to develop really good relationships. I think if we’d lost early I could have had trouble. I’d say my biggest strength is socially. I love reading people. I come off extremely genuine. A lot of the time I am very genuine. And, I think I’m underestimated. And then finding the cracks and things like that, I really listen to what people are saying and watch what they’re doing. I don’t share a lot. I only share what I think is necessary. I’m good at leaving things out. Obviously I’m not a challenge beast, but I like to pretend like I am.

Holmes: If you get idol’d out, that’s got to suck. But in your instance, you were on the bottom and managed to swing the votes. So in a way, it’s kind of a victory. Does that make it any easier?
Eastin: It was nice watching the episode. I felt like it was a waste of an idol because he went home right after. But watching it back I like that I was viewed as making moves. I was a threat to people. That’s reassuring to me. It was a second chance and I did what I could. It was disappointing because it felt like I was making waves. When Wigles went home I pulled in Stephen and Jeremy and Spencer. The next week I pulled Spencer and Tasha and Joe in to vote Stephen. We all did what we were supposed to do. So, for me, I did it. I did get people to vote the way I wanted them to.

Holmes: Word association time. Let’s start with Kimmi.
Eastin: Does it have to be one word?
Holmes: Because you’re a super fave, you get as many words as you’d like.
Eastin: Aww…Kimmi is hard-working.
Holmes: Jeremy?
Eastin: All-American, maybe a little overly confident.
Holmes: Savage?
Eastin: Oh, I don’t want to be mean to anyone. I’d say Savage is emotional.
Holmes: Joe?
Eastin: Not the most strategic player, but extremely talented.
Holmes: Spencer?
Eastin: Spencer is so very smart. He’s like a little brother.
Holmes: Kass?
Eastin: Kass is incredible. She’s an amazing person. An amazing mom. Very entertaining.
Holmes: Stephen?
Eastin: He over analyzes, but he’s definitely my friend.
Holmes: Wentworth?
Eastin: Bad ass.
Holmes: She’s a rock star.
Eastin: Totally.
Holmes: Wiglesworth?
Eastin: Old school.
Holmes: Monica Padilla?
Eastin: Monica is hard…Monica is…underestimated.
Holmes: Terry?
Eastin: He’s just like a dad. He reminds me of my dad.
Holmes: Woo?
Eastin: He’s free-spirited.
Holmes: Tasha?
Eastin: Tasha is passive, she’s kind of dry.
Holmes: Keith?
Eastin: Tuk tuk!
Holmes: Let’s finish with Abi.
Eastin: Complicated, but fierce.

Holmes: What are our plans for the third chance?
Eastin: I just want to win! Bring me back until I win! I’ve learned something both times I’ve played. I’d definitely play again. “Second Chance” was way harder than my first season. All of the tribe swaps and the weather? It made it very difficult. But I had so much fun. I really want to come back.
Holmes: Alright, I’ll pull some strings and get you a season with no swaps and little condos on the beach.
Eastin: That’s be awesome. Do it.
